BROKEN LUNA
I tried to hold back the hiss that came out of my mouth as the silver burned my skin.
Uncle tightened the chains as he wrapped a collar around my neck. “Can you imagine how your mum felt when you let those rogues attack and kill her?” he asked in a heavy voice. He yanked on the collar until he was choking me, and then let go. Today, he smelled of alcohol as he stumbled around me, “Why did she have to die?” It should have been you, you, stupid bitch!” he says, his voice coming out as a growl as he starts to kick the side of my stomach. I closed my eyes and hung my head as the pain filled my body. How I wish it were me.
