I knew it. This is the end. He stomps towards me as I hear my captor’s neck snap. I close my eyes, waiting for death to come but instead, arms shake me, “Can you shift? Are you hurt?” I shake my head, as I open my eyes, “No, I cant shift….” I begin but one of his companions cut me off. “Kane, we have to go!” he shouts in human form, but his eyes widen as he sees me. “No, it can’t be….”

The moment of truth. My fingers were inches from the chip when the entire wall of windows behind Jeff exploded inwards. The world dissolved into a shower of screaming glass and roaring wind. A sleek, black aerial drone hovered where the window had been, its weapons systems humming with lethal intent. Standing in the jagged opening, silhouetted against the city lights, was Prime. Her obsidian eyes glinted, and her voice cut through the chaos, cold and absolute. “The emotional compromise is complete,” she stated, her rifle rising again, not toward me, but toward Jeff. “Targeting the architect. Eliminating the corruption at its source.”

The aura that rolled off him was power on a level I'd never felt before. "Move along," he said casually, but the threat beneath made my blood run cold. "Now." "She's just a wolf…" My attacker tried to say but the mystery man was quicker. He moved in a blur, lifting my attacker by the throat, as he bared his fangs, eyes turning a shade of red. I was right. He was an Alpha. "I said move along." He threw the wolf down the hallway like a rag doll, the sight shocking me. The Omega scrambled away without looking back.

He commented dryly and Daral gave him an annoyed look. “Why do you have to do everything the hard way? You are our Prime, not just a leader and you know it. What she said is true. No one has had a child born with the Prime gene in years. You and I are the only two known alive right now for sure to have produced those with the prime gene. Neither of us have a mate, so you better take the help Aries.” Aries let out a heavy sigh.
