Trevor finishes lighting the candles and Blair rushes toward me, grabbing me by the arm and pulling me closer as they all begin to sing. Blaze sank his fangs into her wrist and continued sucking her blood. Triana winced, a sharp pain spreading across her body. She could feel the blood flowing out of her veins. She felt dizzy and weak after a while. All she wanted to do was pull her hand back and push him away. But she resisted the urge and allowed him to drink her blood. Blaze collapsed on the floor as if he was drunk. His fangs shrunk into his gums, and his eyes returned to their original black color. Triana slumped onto the floor beside him. She was so tired and dizzy that she could hardly open her eyes.

A few suggested it was the end of all things, apocalypse written in blood across the sky. I stood at the edge of the sanctuary garden. The wind lashed through my hair like claws every howl of the storm. The same storm that once lived inside me, that had raged through my soul and poisoned everything it touched, was now painting the world in its color. Crimson. Blood-red. I then vaguely remember someone trying to order me “Adonis, stop… Adonis, you are taking too much, now STOP!” However, in truth, their order only pulled me back a little, but it had no real effect on me and besides, I didn’t want to stop. Trish stares as the wound knits itself together with unnatural speed. The boy blinks. “It… it doesn’t hurt anymore.” I pull away quickly and stand, backing up. “Amaya,” Trish whispers. “What was that?” “I don’t…” My breath is shallow. “I don’t know.” But we both know that’s not true. Later that evening, I sneak back into the library. The candlelight flickers over the rows of ancient books, casting tall shadows that dance across the walls. I pull the healing text from the shelf again and flip through until I find the section labeled: Bloodline of the Trueborn.

At the foot of the tower, Lucien lifted his gaze, his golden eyes reflecting the hue of blood. “She’s opened it…” Adrian gripped his silver sword, rain soaking his back. “If the Holy Gate truly exists… then the Primordial Blood—” Lucien interrupted, his voice rough, echoing like it rose from the abyss. “...is awakening.” --- Inside the Divine Tower – Sanctum Level.
