Luke thought she wasn’t going to. ‘OK,’ he said feeling relieved. Though he would never show it.

Aku pernah menangis dalam pelukannya hingga kehabisan suara, tapi tak pernah menceritakan apa yang sebenarnya terjadi. Aku tak ingin menambah kekhawatirannya. Namun, kini aku baru tahu, Meisy juga terluka malam itu dan perintah yang Evan berikan pada rumah sakit adalah, “Kerahkan semua tenaga ahli, dahulukan keselamatan Meisy.” Air mataku membasahi halaman kertas, melunturkan tulisannya. “Kalau aku bukan prioritas terpentingmu, lebih baik aku menghilang dari hidupmu.”
