I could feel the heat of him against my back and smell the lingering remnants of the incense on his skin, mingled now with the sulphur and ash of being a dragon, but more, I could feel the draw of him behind me, as if our souls were tethered.
Ashara was laying the inlaid box on a table within reach of the bath as we entered and looked up with a pleased smile. “It is nice to see you again in this form, taradrakyn. I’ll return in an hour to have the bath removed.”
“It is bigger,” he commented.
“Yes,” she met my eyes. “The princess requested it made for when you resumed this form.”
“I am told it is a nightmare to transport, takes up most of a wagon,” I added.
