“Evan! I was wrong about you! “Tyler has no grudges against you, yet you’re beating him like you want him dead. You’re going to pay for this today!” Without a moment’s hesitation, she grabbed a heavy rod from the side and swung it down hard against my body. Smack! Smack! Smack! The specially-made rod carried a punishing weight. Within moments, I could feel warm blood soaking through my clothes. Rosie stood to the side, watching coldly as the strikes rained down. At one point, the pain was too much, and I blacked out—only to be jolted awake by a bucket of icy water being dumped over my head.

Above the cove. Darius was there. He’d reformed in the air. White wolf. Wings of light on his back. Not feathers. Blades. He was already moving, already going east, already leaving. Elias-and-Jace shouted. One word. One name. "TWIN FANG CATASTROPHE!" Their claws lit up. Not lightning. Something older. Blue-white turned black at the edges. They came together in front of them, claw to claw, and the space between them tore.

Twilight stopped giving out orders to the clones. The clones went into a frenzy and could not tell between friend and foe; they began to attack Twilight. One of them bit Twilight's hand while another bit her neck. Within seconds, she collapsed on the ground. The rest of the clones pounced on her. It was a brutal scene to watch. Everything happened too fast. Before anyone could react, Twilight was lying motionlessly in a puddle of blood. Larissa covered Vincent's eyes and turned her gaze away. The crazed clones continued to attack even after murdering Twilight.

Not while my lungs burned, my heart raced, and my wolf roared in defiance. I stopped, crouching low again, ears twitching, senses alert. I could feel the city, the humans oblivious to the war and the creatures living just above their sight. I could feel the lingering danger — vampires evolving, the council plotting, and Adrian’s own complications with the Luna. My life, my choices, my very essence, were entangled in all of this. And yet, tonight, I claimed a small piece for myself.

Devin rolled his eyes and lifted him like he weighed nothing. "Vampires are very strong at night, sweetheart," Grayson said with a pained chuckle. Devin flew up into the air as I sat with the still-unconscious Draven. I looked down at the poor man and brushed his blonde bangs away from his face. The twins were cute and I was alright with them being my child's mate although two seemed a bit worrisome. A gray wolf came trotting up to me and I knew it was Harkin. I scratch his furry head. He started to growl at the swarm of bats that started circling around us.

He had been observing the red-haired vampire as she spoke with the other female through the glass doors of the art gallery. “Mason!” Dylan phoned once more. Mason yelled out, "Coming," and started to move with the rest of the group. When Mason joined them, Dylan commented, "So, she was hot, you know, for a dead person." Dylan was a werewolf who was 37 years old and had stopped growing since he was in his late 20s. Like Mason, he was tall and slim, but when his dark hair wasn't tied back, it hung to his shoulders.

Tiernan clarified. "The Twilight Princess," Aideen affirmed again. "Do not ever call me that," I ground out. "What's wrong with being the Twilight Princess?" Aideen asked. "Too many damn vampire jokes," I snarled, and Tiernan choked back a laugh. "Vampires?" Aideen looked baffled. "Twilight is the title of a human motion picture about vampires," Tiernan explained. "It's a story; entertainment, like theater." "Which makes that title into a joke." I rolled my eyes. "As if it weren't bad enough to be a fairy princess. I swear; if my skin starts to sparkle, I'm going to scream."

she added then continued. "How did you escape them?" Twilight recounted the unfolding of events and the reasons that led them to come out, including the miraculous intervention of Vixel. "I'm sorry. Sky had nothing to do with it, it's all my fault." concludes Twilight. At the end of the Twilight story, Skylar felt dizzy with a sudden headache, and almost collapse. But Lyra who was very close caught up with her. "It was too much for her today. She needs some rest." Lyra said before asking to he'p go and lay Skylar down.

Blood on my cheek, boots soaked. I shifted. My wolf took over, senses tingling. Alpha Tristan braced for me. I leaned in. “We survived.” He nodded. Alone in the hollow. Dante stirred. Blood dripped from his lashes. He tried to speak. We glared. He collapsed. The twins glowed brighter. They walked toward us. I dropped my sword. Alpha Tristan caught my hand. Our eyes locked. No words—everything there. The world collapsed. We stood between darkness and dawn.
