Theron's POV The day of the event was finally here. This is the day I officially put Twilight on the map. Another success to celebrate. Many of my past lovers have been calling nonstop to accompany me to the event but I turned them all down. I don't want any drama tonight so I decided to just go alone.

But there was something horribly wrong with the picture, something Alina had been noticing a lot with the objects residing within the smothering walls of her home; the rose wasn't where she had last put it. There was no mistaking it this time; Alina knew for a fact that she had put the rose on her bathroom counter last night. She had even gone out of her way to mark the spot she had placed it with a damn dry erase marker, as if to prove to herself she really wasn't losing her mind. And lo and behold, there it sat on her nightstand instead, the red petals seeming to perk in excitement when her attention was locked onto its presence. The moon itself was glittering so profoundly.

I stopped myself from going too far and quickly stuttered, “Can we just… get the certificates already?” He flashed me a casual smile, and I turned crimson all over again. I looked away before he could notice, my heart hammering in my chest. I began to wonder if I was the only one who still remembered that night. He didn’t mention It. His eyes were unreadable—calm, cold, and utterly impossible to read. I stepped forward, signed my name on the small red certificate, and swore my vows. Just like that, I became a married woman. I opened the door just a few inches and saw a small cardboard box sitting on the carpet with no name and no return address, so I pulled it inside and opened the lid while the others crowded around me to see what was inside. Resting on a bed of white tissue paper was a single rose made of delicate glass and the stem was broken in half so it looked dead and jagged, and I knew immediately that it was a message from Elena Romano because that rose was the symbol of the investment firm we had burned down in Berlin.

Well, our version of it. “The rosemary,” Kairi declared, holding a sprig under my nose, “has developed a distinct peppery note, likely due to the influx of un-edited solar energy and the psychological resilience of the herb.” I batted his hand away. “It tastes like rosemary. She was walking in front of me when someone suddenly shouted, “Watch out!” I saw a trolley of plates speed towards Rosemary. She saw it too and tried to jump down the small flight of stairs. But her ankle twisted and she fell forward. In a flash, I grabbed her wrist and pulled her back. Her soft bosom bumped into my chest. I instantly felt my heart flying.

Rosemary suddenly shouted, "I want to make a deal with you! Dragging this out won't benefit either of us. Since you've already taken what was mine, I'll accept it. Right now, I need to leave Wraith Graveyard and return to Lomuia. Name your terms. What will it take for you to let me go?" Andrew leaped down and looked her up and down. Her skin had an indescribably pale quality. It was as white as cream, seemingly devoid of any color, so pale that it practically glowed. Upon examining Rosemary's features, she was the epitome of a Western beauty. Her nose was perfectly sculpted, her eyes a brilliant azure. She had a small mouth and a slender neck. Jeffrey got up and jumped up and down to get there. He thought the flowers had bloomed, and I was back. But how could a rose that was uprooted bloom? He opened the iron gate of the rose garden and found that the land was loose. He saw Joanna holding a small hoe, squatting on the ground, and plowing bit by bit. How did it get there? Rain stared down at the rose she had found by her bedside the second the woke up. The scent drifting in the air and causing her to smile. It reminded her of her time in the cabin and Rain didn’t realize how much she missed waking up to the comforting scent of roses until this one was brought to her. Rain silently wondered with a smile, would they still let her go back to the cabin or did Alexander plan to have her stay in the mansion permanently?
