Taking a deep breath, she opened the book. The moment the cover cracked open, a gust of wind swept through the chamber, extinguishing the soft blue candles and plunging the room into darkness, save for the ethereal glow emanating from the pages. Words formed in the air, shimmering like liquid silver: “To awaken, you must see yourself as the blood sees you.” Evelyn blinked. The letters seemed to float, twisting in shapes she couldn’t comprehend. A warmth spread through her veins, and suddenly, the room shifted. She wasn’t in the chamber anymore. She was standing in the forest, the same forest that had called her name countless times before.

It is now just a matter of time as we watch the twilight for clues, and we watch and wait for the inevitable. Jimmy reached back feeling for the bottom step and slowly sat down, although it felt like he was falling backward. He held onto the book as though he had just discovered a great treasure. "Damn," he mumbled as he stared at the words. He blew out a breath he had been holding and still couldn't move from the steps, but the words on the pages began to open doors in his mind.

The librarian was still looking at him weirdly. "Have a good night," he said. "You too." She muttered and Damon left quickly. When he got back to the room, Talia was in bed. The blanket was pulled up to her chin, and her eyes were closed. Damon stood there for a moment, watching her. For some reason, Talia looked more peaceful. He shook his head and went to his desk. He turned on the small lamp and opened the book. The first chapter was about how Wolfsbane was formed, and he read to himself.

"I was a maid, a servant, a ghost. I was nothing. But I am not invisible anymore. I am the Primordial Queen. And I am coming for the Council." The three Alphas fell into step beside me—one on each side, one at my back. We walked toward the treeline, leaving the Ashford Estate to crumble into the dust of history. The blood moon had set.
