Night was always the time when everything happened. From dark supernatural forces roaming the world, to vampires lurking in every corner of the streets and most importantly, those who found pleasure in the nightlifes. Those whose only solace were clubs, bars, and joint houses. And let's not forget, notorious gang members were said to enjoy prying on the weak at night out in the streets. In one word, the night harbored everything bad and evil; which was the gang members, vampires and demons. Only two out of those didn't exist in this world we live in except for the gang members of course. Let's face it, this was reality anyways.

He frowns and I flare up in my seat. “Your stupid hitman had to get a teenager involved!” I raise my voice and his eyes widen. “What?” He does a double take and I roll my eyes. “What’s worse, she called my name. Matthew I am Drake Mackenzie! My name should not be in her mouth like that. Infact she should not be allowed to have a mouth, but everybody has one-“ “Okay you’re going out of context man, calm down” He states.

I groaned, already knowing where this was headed. “Mia,” I said with mock exasperation, “his name is not Blake.” “Oh, right, right,” she teased, dropping her bag on the table. “So what is his name, then?” “His name is Chase,” I said proudly. “Chase Carter.” Mia’s face lit up. “Ohhh... Chase Carter.” She paused dramatically, tapping her chin. “Hmm... Chase Blake Carter sounds way better.” Ethan chuckled. “All the Blakes and Storms I know are... well, let’s just say they’re always up to something.”

Although his memory was usually sharp, he had forgotten because that conversation was insignificant. “I remembered because I happened to know the meaning of Noctis. It means ‘night’ in Latin, right?” Gia asked. Raven nodded. “Very clever, Haze. Noctis is a name I chose because it suits my name. Night, and I’m black, Raven.” Besides meaning a black crow, Raven could also simply mean black. “Why did your parents choose a name that means black? Usually, other parents would choose white or something pure.” Raven laughed. “Our name choices are indeed unconventional.”

This time was different. “So what name should we get?” Rowena asked. “Night birds.” Oisin said immediately. “That sounds horrible.” Carter commented. “Not that it has anything to do with me, of course.” He added. “Yeah. It does sound terrible.” Rowena confirmed. “Hmph. I don’t see you with any better ideas.” Oisin said and crossed his arms. “How about… bearclaw?” Rowena said with a smile. “Hey! That’s not fair.” Oisin complained.

Ronan pointed directly at the Nightbane family. At Kaelara, his mate, and at the people who had dedicated their lives to protecting Silvercrest. Then he spoke. "Kaelara Nightbane." A pause. "Darion Nightbane." Another pause. "Elowen Nightbane." "Cassian Nightbane." "Thorne Nightbane." "Lyra Nightbane." One by one... Like names being read at an execution. Then Ronan's voice thundered across the square. "These traitors stand accused of crimes against Silvercrest."

"Do they have names?" Sabizina looked at him, seeing the raw vulnerability behind the Alpha mask. "Leo and Luna," she whispered. "I haven't told anyone." Rage repeated the names, a look of profound reverence crossing his face. "Leo and Luna. The Lion and the Moon. Strong. Luminous." He leaned down and kissed her forehead—a chaste, burning contact that felt more intimate than any touch they had shared before. "Sleep, Sabizina. Tomorrow, we start the war."

“I was thinking of them on the way here.” Zen says, in a way that sounds a little like protest “It hasn’t been that long, My Lady.” “Out with it then.” I give him a look “You’ve already decided on the names, haven’t you?” The way he’s pointedly avoiding my eyes tells me I hit the nail on the head. “Letum and Interitus.” Some part of my brain instinctively knows what the words translate to. Death and Destruction. Really, he chose the most basic names with in fancy words. I shake my head slightly with a smile.

"I forgot about names..." Lysander: "...How did you forget that but remember to give birth to them?" Aurora: "..." Heath glared at Lysander, then turned to Aurora. "Since they were born at night, how about Night?" Aurora nodded agreeably. Bouncing the baby in her arms, she asked, "What about this one?" Heath smiled, "The second one cries so loudly, let's call him Loud." Aurora nodded, "Alright, Night and Loud it is. Lysander, you can go handle the paperwork now."
