His wrinkled face looked like it was crawling with countless wriggling worms. I shuddered and stepped back, whispering to Silvia, "Good thing I've got you. This place is terrifying." She snorted and suddenly shoved me forward, straight toward George. With an icy laugh, she said, "This pretty boy will make a great offering. You're going to love him." Before I could react, George gestured, and several eerie puppets stepped forward to pin me down and drain my blood. A sharp bell rang out, echoing through the night.

His hot breath washed over me, making my skin prickle with fear, and I felt his gaze like a physical touch, making me shudder. The chains creaked and groaned, straining against the beast's fury. I knew it was only a matter of time before Romain broke free, and I was consumed by the horror that loomed before me. The Moon Goddess seemed to have abandoned me, leaving me to face this terror alone.

“Then, I’ll cut it into pieces—right in front of you.” My knees nearly buckled. “And when you’ve had your fill of horror, I’ll put a bullet through your skull, Baby,” he purred. “I’ll watch as your brain splatters across the floor. And then—” he took another step closer, the camera distorting his face into something monstrous “—I’ll take my time cutting up that beautiful body of yours, too.” Panic surged through me, a raw and primal thing. My breath came in short, uneven bursts. My body screamed at me to run.

Fear. Then: "Impossible." Silence. Then: "The horror knows." Everyone froze. Then far beyond the prison— a terrible roar echoed through reality. The sleeping horror had awakened. And it was coming.

Scott said quietly, nodding at me. And just like that, they vanished before my eyes. They had already suffered enough in life. How could they die all over again because of me? I crouched on the ground, crying so hard I nearly fainted. The familiar mechanical voice rang out once more. "Congratulations, player. You have successfully cleared the horror game instance "Family of Four." Reward: Revival. Preparing to transport the player back to the real world. Countdown begins: 10, 9, 8..."

This was the punishment. At some point, green smoke crept in without warning. The temp plummeted. I shivered, and he slipped off his cloak, wrapping it around me. "Don't be afraid," he murmured. Afraid? Not even close. My perception glitch had me kind of... hyped. "They're back!" Mia yelled. "Grandpa and Grandma are back!" The door creaked open. Two shriveled elders shuffled in.
