I looked at him, like really looked at him. Not just his eyes, his whole body was glowing. His fervent desire to protect everything and everyone he believed in broke the chains of that which resided in him. He broke his limits, completely.

Goodness, no. When my panicked gaze met Tyler's in the mirror again, goosebumps pricked across my skin. His eyes were no longer normal. They were now a deep, bloody crimson, glowing with an unnatural light in the darkness of the tunnel. The car screeched to a sudden, violent halt, throwing me forward against my seatbelt.
