It happened so fast and so completely that I almost missed it, and then it was fully there, this red creeping up from his neck and settling across his face, and he looked so genuinely caught off guard by the basic concept of me needing privacy that I had to press my lips together to hold it in.

It felt vicious, and his eyes glinted with gold that looked like it was starting to shift into red around the edges. Tyler’s jaw clenched and he said nothing. The next moment, her head snapped up and I saw something I’d never seen before. Tori’s eyes were bright red and a yellow light glowed under her hand that covered Tyler.

Gia raises both her hands in the air, “This is exactly what I quit! You guys don’t take me seriously; you just want me in my seat working for you till the day I die!” Tyler and I exchange a strange look; this must have something to do with Red, I am sure of it, but she won’t tell us. Why? From the corner of my eye, I see Tyler curling his knuckles into tight fists, the tip of his ears red from anger. I give him a look not to tell Gia about us seeing her with Red the other day, but I am very sure that he will say it. “Is this because of Red?” Tyler explodes, oh boy. Here we go.

Then, Tyr gently frowned, and his eyes snapped open. Dalton seemed to feel some movements suddenly. He turned around immediately and met Tyr in the eyes. He exclaimed, “Tyr, you’ve woken up?” At first, Dalton was pretty delighted, but soon he realized that something was not quite right. Tyr’s eyes were not as clear as an ordinary person’s. Instead, it was blood red. “Tyr, you...” Before Dalton could even finish his sentence, Tyr suddenly sat up from the bed as if he was a zombie. His face was expressionless. Still, the blood color in his eyes fused, in the speed which was visible to the naked eye, as it got redder and redder.
