“I think if I do nothing, we won’t have a child to protect at all. You heard her it wants an anchor. If that’s me, then hiding won’t stop it. It’ll just come anyway.”
Silence stretched, sharp and heavy. Tyler’s wolf rose close to the surface, a growl rumbling deep in his chest but he said nothing.
I took a step closer to him. “I love you, Tyler. But I will not sit back and watch people die because I was too afraid to try.”
Tyler turned away sharply, pacing the room like a caged animal. His fists flexed, his shoulders tight. He didn’t want to hear it, didn’t want to accept it but he couldn’t argue with the truth either.
