My Janitor's Whisper of Love
The phantom sweetness lingered on my lips, mixed with the salt of my earlier, forgotten tears.
He raised his hand, the one that had touched my hair, and slowly brushed the stray crumb from his own lip. His eyes never left mine.
"Well, Hendrick?" His voice was a low murmur, barely a whisper, yet it resonated in the vast chamber.
"Did you find what you sought?" He asked me with tenderness in his voice.
I answered not with words, but by pressing my lips to his. He understood, yielding to me as the kiss deepened, a silent communion. When we parted, breath mingling, I traced his jaw and declared, "You," my voice thick, "are all I wanted."
