Manolya’s POV The next morning came too quickly. The twins stumbled down the stairs to breakfast like drunks after a wedding, leaning on each other just to stay upright. Their hair stuck out in every direction, eyes half-shut. “You look like corpses,” I said, sipping orange juice. “Blame Uncle Eren, he said he wanted to spar with us!” Adlee groaned. Eren followed them in, rubbing his temples. “Don’t look at me. They begged for one more round.”

That night, she and Olivine drank hot gin and watched old movies until sunrise, laughing at the moments when no one in the world could possibly find sleep. * The twins from the bakery’s far past reappeared on a windy Thursday: two small figures, indistinguishable save for their shoes, trailing suitcases that clacked over the tile floor. "What if," Mateo hesitated, his voice thick with emotion, "one of the twins is mine, and the other Archer's?" The notion, though unprovable due to their identical DNA, was tantalizing.

Lana answered, and Beatrice nodded. “I don't know if it was Beatrice or Lana who helped us today, they look the same to me,” Ingrid commented. I know that was just a joke. Yes, one thing I didn't mention was that Beatrice and Lana were twins, they could easily be told apart as Lana had a visible brown birthmark on her jaw. “That's because they are triplets just like us,” Nathan palmed his forehead, showing how dumb he thought of his sister, but Ingrid didn't leave it there, she went on and said they were not three, so they were not triplets but twins.

I had survived on the streets by reading the exact moment an orphan or a thug was trying to play me, and Bree was definitely a good actress… I knew that from experience. But the sheer, visceral vehemence in her voice right now was completely confounding. In fact, both of their faces had gone completely blank, their brows furrowing as they stared across the table at their cousin.

They look a shit ton alike. They are too much alike just to be sisters. I look at dad, and I think he also has the same revelation. “Byanca and Breayna, how old are you two?” Dad asks.

But as she reached the white sand, she saw two giant shadows waiting for her. It was Bane and Jiro. The Twins were the biggest men on the island. They were even wider than Kaelo. They looked exactly the same. They had the same thick muscles, the same dark hair, and the same hungry smiles. They were standing by a big palm tree. They were totally naked. Their bodies were huge and hard in the morning light. "The Shaman has made her very slippery," Bane said. His voice was deep and loud. "And very ready for us," Jiro added. His voice was exactly like his brother’s.

Hot triplets. “Your dad and Bran’s dad... they were twins?” I asked, hoping it explained the resemblance. They had a lot of multiples in their family. Johnny looked up. “Yeah. They were. You and Bran must have talked a lot.” I nodded. “What was that about, anyway? Bran?” “Yeah,” he answered. “Breakups suck,” I said, watching him stand and balance on his blades like a pro. “They do,” he said, holding his hand out for me.

Ethan said while approaching the twins. The twins looked up at him and Ethan smiled. "You didn't seem surprised." Austin said in a calm voice. They thought Ethan would be surprised when he got to know that they are twins. "No, Mr. Austin, right?" Ethan asked while raising his eyebrow. He could easily identify Adonis and Austin. Although they looked the same and their fashion sense was quite similar, their hairstyle was different. Austin's hair was short and Adonis's hair was normal length. "It looks like you know we are twins." Adonis said and chuckled bitterly.

The male lead of the novel was my husband, Trevor, who was still overseas handling a crisis. The biggest villain was the man clinging to me.
