"Meet me at the oak tree! You know what it is, do you not?! Start counting and if I do not come back in two hours, go home without me!" The young child which was no more than seven years old, nodded at him and continued to run to how much her feet could take. She arrived at the oak tree and climbed the sturdy branches and counted. "1.2.3.4.5..." Asty was knocked out because of exhaustion. She woke up, only to realize that it has been more than two hours and the moon had already risen high. Her environment was engulfed in darkness and moonlight from above barely penetrated the thick branches of the woods.

The Phoenix Oak Tree was a huge oak tree at the end of our village but it was covered in briars and ferns and bushes. No one would think someone lived there or it was even habitable. But inside was a portal basically the Phoenix had her own world in that tree but she could close it or open with one of her feathers . I hummed a calling we used for her it was a simple tune but Celtic but the words were always a warning sometimes you venture away from your path but there’s always a match made for you

The morning air should have been sweet. It should have tasted like the promise of a new life. But as the sun rose over the First Den, the sky took on a dull, metallic sheen. The golden wheat fields were no longer dancing. They stood still, as if they were afraid to move. In the center of the valley, the Great Oak Tree stood tall. Its leaves were a deep, vibrant violet, pulsing with the soft rhythm of Kaima’s heartbeat. She was the wind. She was the soil. Every breath the wolves took was a gift from her.

He looked at the oak tree, at the symbols carved into its trunk, at the ground beneath his feet. Suddenly, his eyes lit up. "I think I know," he said, his voice filled with excitement. "It's a mountain!" The voice was silent for a moment, then it spoke again, its tone filled with approval. "Correct," it said. "The answer is a mountain. You have passed the first trial. The path is now open." As the voice faded away, the ground before them began to tremble. The oak tree slowly rotated, revealing a hidden passage beneath its roots.

As we approached the front entrance, I turned to face Rico, "Can we go back to the oak tree again?" "Why? Aren't you hungry?" He asked. "Yes I am but I feel drawn to the tree. I want to say goodnight before I sleep," I answered honestly, despite how weird I sounded. "Okay then, let's go." He said and we walked side by side again to the oak tree. The oak tree stood tall and majestic, its branches reaching out as if embracing the moon above. The air around it felt charged with a certain energy, a quiet strength that resonated deep within me.

Birds and cricket songs are replaced by total silence, we can even hear the twigs and branches breaking underneath our legs as we walk on them. I can hear Owen's heavy breaths, even his hard swallowing. The air suddenly changes, when we get to a small opening after the thickets. There are seven tall trees, taller than the rest, which surround an old cabin. It practically looks deserted. The trees look so strange and peculiar. I have been to the woods before, but I have never come across such trees. I walk slowly towards the cabin, Owen is one step ahead of me and his hand is wrapped protectively around my waist.

But the promise of answers to the issues that had been troubling me—the attraction of the unknown—was too great to fight. The old oak tree near the river stood silhouetted against the starry sky, its gnarled limbs extending like skeleton arms. I moved gingerly, my senses sharp. The soft rustling of leaves in the breeze was the sole sound; it was a comforting song that did not help me to relax. I looked about, looking for some indication of Kavan. But the place was deserted; the only observer of my covert meeting the old oak tree. I started to feel let down. Had he come to another opinion? Had he chosen not to travel?

Rowan’s POV I sat with my back against the same oak tree I’d leaned on for four days straight, one knee drawn up, forearm resting across it. The bark had worn a permanent groove in my cloak. My stomach had long since stopped growling. Now, it just ached in quiet protest. The dead-end clearing looked exactly the same as it had yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that. It was made of thick pines, fallen needles, no tracks, and no scent beyond this point. I had circled this spot so many times I could walk it blindfolded. I had clawed at roots, sniffed every inch of bark, shifted, and shifted again until my muscles trembled. Nothing.

Soaked. We are all soaked as we follow Zayn deeper into the forest; he’s leading us to where he saw the orb in his vision. The rain is pouring heavily and there are now flashes of lightning in the sky. The winds are cold and unforgiving and the ground is all mushy and wet. We have now passed the oak tree that I used to hide under. No one seems to be talking, we all just walk in silence until Zayn suddenly stops. “Here!” He says.
