The man said weakly as he held out his hand. As everyone minus Jill reached out their hands to help him a smile creeped up on his face and Jill knowing something bad would happen and couldn’t stop it in time so she grabbed his hand as well and, in a flash, they were gone. The box itself that Jill was worried about had also disappeared and in a sudden flash of lightning the great infamous oak tree of Oaken Hills was struck.

The path beneath their feet grew uneven, the forest growing thicker and more ancient as they walked, until they arrived at the base of the oldest oak tree in Valenwood. The massive oak towered above them, its gnarled branches stretching out like protective arms, creating a canopy that filtered the moonlight. Caius stopped beneath the tree, his shoulders tense as he exhaled a slow breath. Lira stood beside him, unsure of what to say, the weight of the prophecy hanging between them.

Amelia's POV As I made my way through the forest, the familiar sight of the towering oak tree greeted me like an old friend. Its gnarled branches reached out to me, casting dappled shadows upon the forest floor as if beckoning me closer. With each step, the soft crunch of leaves beneath my feet echoed through the tranquil air, a comforting melody that soothed my restless soul. The canopy above filtered the sunlight into a dappled mosaic of light and shadow, casting a sense of enchantment over the secluded grove where the ancient oak stood sentinel.

Soaked. We are all soaked as we follow Zayn deeper into the forest; he’s leading us to where he saw the orb in his vision. The rain is pouring heavily and there are now flashes of lightning in the sky. The winds are cold and unforgiving and the ground is all mushy and wet. We have now passed the oak tree that I used to hide under. No one seems to be talking, we all just walk in silence until Zayn suddenly stops. “Here!” He says.

I flew over the frozen ground, a grey shadow under the rising moon. The lightning-struck oak was a giant tree, split down the middle, one half dead and black. I shifted back, shivering as I pulled on my clothes, my eyes scanning the dark tree line. Minutes ticked by. The moon was now clearly visible in the sky. She is not coming. She has been caught. It is over. Then, a whisper of movement. She melted out from behind the broad trunk of the oak, her face pale in the gloom. I nearly sagged with relief. “You are here.”

Daniel muttered, “underground bunker next to the biggest tree in this area.” Our eyes moved around the ground to find the place Jake had mentioned, and landed on a large, perhaps hundreds of years old oak tree. “Move.” Within the next moment, we were out of the car and in the ground, moving cautiously with careful steps. My ears were on a high alert for any unnecessary voice. There was nothing suspicious but I knew things could not be this easy. Ace was on edge, ready to pounce out at any given chance. Daniel and I moved around the ground to find the bunker but there was no trace of it. The whole thousands of acres large ground was spread out into oblivion.

"I have my eyes on you" I scoffed. What is it with this witch? Her eyes on me? I can't believe her gut. But then again, what does Jo's mean. "I know what happens beneath The Oak." The compound was popularly known as The Oak. We have the Lady of the oak who was Sumaya, as well as the princes of the Oak. The servants and the slaves of the Oak who were also known as the Oak's commodity. But how could anyone claim to know what happens beneath The Oak? It sounds absurd. Especially the fact that their couldn't be anything beneath the plantation or the numerous chambers.

Robert replied. The high beams cut through the dust on the road. Kat could see the drive was lined with thick trees. “It is going to be impossible to find Jude in here if he wonders off.” She glanced worried at Robert and back at the barbequed covered boy. “Don’t worry babe. There’s a gate around the property itself.” He rubbed her shoulder. “Well this isn’t creepy or anything.” Ray snarked. “Its only creepy because its dark RayRay. Things always look different in the dark. It’s just new, new always feels uncertain, until it’s not new anymore.” Kat smiled back at Ray through the rear view.

In the center of the clearing stood an old, gnarled tree, its bark twisted and gnarled. Saul approached the tree, his hand resting on the rough bark. He closed his eyes and muttered a few words under his breath. Suddenly, the tree began to shake and tremble, and a low rumbling filled the air. Silas watched in awe as the tree split open, revealing a hidden chamber inside. Saul motioned for him to follow as he stepped inside. The chamber was dark and musty, with the scent of old paper and ink filling the air. The walls were lined with shelves, and Silas could see countless books and scrolls stacked haphazardly on them.

The sound of crickets and insects filled my ears, a little hum of life in the dark. I stopped at the edge of a clearing, scanning the trees in front of me. They had to be close. I could feel it. "Um, Queen—" Jake opened his mouth to speak, but I silenced him with a finger to my lips. Then I heard the sound of footsteps heading our way, heavy fast and voice shouting through the tree. “Stop! It’s pointless running away from us!” "We have you guys surrounded!" Lights flickered through the branches, bouncing off the grass and bark. I snuck closer to the massive oak tree in front of me, resting my hand on its rough bark. The hanging moss obscure my view, but the footsteps were getting louder.
