Control. This was my domain. I wore the floral collar Ofelia had bribed me into with a piece of grilled chicken. Daisies. A touch of lavender. Something pale and pink I couldn’t identify, but it didn’t offend me. It sat lightly against my fur, and I tolerated it because it matched the mood. And because I looked good in it. Obviously.

Ilyana timidly touched the brunette's palms, and he, deftly picking her up, led her along. Once outside, William stopped. Black wings opened with a quiet rustle. The young man threw back his head and spread his arms to the sides. He made a powerful flap of his wings. A gust of wind blew through Ilyana's hair and clothes. A jerk - and the young man easily took off from the ground, soaring into the dark sky strewn with stars. His wings shone, shimmering in all shades of blue and purple.

I had his arm pinned to his back while my wings beat at the air in big swings causing feathers and dust to cascade around us. He may be fast, but I was stronger, with wings. I pushed off of him, jumping as my wings beat downwards propelling me upward, and I perched on the railing that ran along the edge of the first floor platform. There I waited while he straightened his cloths. I hurt the wolfs pride, but what must be done is now done.

They flare on either side of me and when I stand, the points arch to encompass a wide scope of the ground, causing the others to back away in shock. Because I have wings. Wings of fire.

The person on the other side stated. I had to clear my throat before I could respond “Angels shouldn’t have clipped wings.” “I understand hold just a moment.” The man that had answered pressed a few buttons and before I knew it, I could hear June’s voice through the phone, “Are you safe?” June was straight to the point, but in her line of work I assume she had to be.

Then, gingerly and very slowly, he exhaled deeply, and his wings began to unfurl. They came gradually, starting at the base of his shoulders, two white shoots extending from his back, growing higher, wider, thicker as they spread back and up and out. Clara eyed the scalloped edges, yearning to trace them with her hands. The inside of his wings began to glow with velvet iridescence.

There was only a long thud of air as the something suddenly unfolded into fairly large leathery wings. Vic shook his head in panic, turned several times, trying to see the innovation. The wings did not want to gather back - they stuck out straightened on the sides. He forced himself to calm down and freeze in place, too stupid to spin naked on the lakeshore. This is not a tail, a tail would probably interfere more. After a very short flight over the forest, the wings were no longer such a surprise. You just need to learn how to manage them. Frore wanted to trust Vayldre and she wanted him to do the same when it came down to her. When she managed to calm down her heart, Vayldre once again stood up on his feet and spread his wings. Frore’s eyes were caught up in his gigantic wings which were starting to flap dangerously close to her face. More than afraid, she was awe – struck now. It felt so unreal. Everything which was happening in this moment only felt like a dream. Vayldre flapped his wings a few more times and wind began to caress Frore’s body smoothly. Then, he reached for the sky. His head falling back and his body tilting vertically.

His voice was deep, monotonous. I clenched my fists at my sides, the crescent shapes of my nails surely being imprinted onto my palms, "Who the fuck are you and you better choose your words wisely because killing you won't be that difficult." I shrugged off my jacket and threw it on the ground. Rolling my shoulders, I let my wings out and unfurled them but the room wasn't big enough to accommodate their large size. I didn't even care if the shirt I wore tore into shreds because of my wings.
