They caused them enough pain in the past, but he and Ashly are the ones who decide their present and future. He woke groggily after what had to have been too few hours of sleep. There was bright sunlight coming in the window, and he was alone in the bed, but Ashly was standing beside it, buttoning a suit jacket. It looked strange, but it took Alex's half-awake brain a few moments to determine why: the jacket was too wide for Ashly's narrow shoulders and sagged around her torso. She also wasn’t wearing a shirt beneath it.

Her long black hair fell to her waist like a waterfall, her beautiful face carrying a hint of cool detachment.

It was so appealing. Jason wore a different cloth and said " I know, you are not sleeping" Ashley's eyes shot open.

She gathered every item connected to Joshua and Max, then she carried everything into the backyard. One by one, she threw them into a fire. The flames slowly rose into the night sky. As she watched them burn, it felt as though the last pieces of her heart were being reduced to ashes along with them. Only after the fire had completely died out did she wheel herself back inside. The moment she entered the house, she saw Joshua and Max coming downstairs. Both of them were dressed in formal suits, as though they had just returned from an important event. The instant they saw Sheila, their expressions changed. They hurried over to her.

As she turned from side to side, taking in the full effect, she almost didn’t recognise herself. A knock at the door startled her out of her thoughts. "Olivia? You ready?" Asher’s voice carried through the room, calm and steady. Taking a deep breath, she opened the door. Asher stood there, dressed in a sharp black tuxedo, looking every bit the powerful Alpha he was. His dark hair was slicked back, and his chiselled jaw was clean-shaven. But it wasn’t his appearance that caught her off guard—it was the way his eyes widened when he saw her. His gaze travelled from the top of her perfectly styled hair to the tips of her golden heels, and for a moment, he seemed at a loss for words.

My old clothes are at Rafe's, assuming he remembered to send someone by La Bella Boutique to get them. But Ashlyn seems to think of everything. A few minutes later, she returns with a glass of water and some clothes under her arm. She's also changed from her green party dress into a tank top and pajama bottoms. "I love dressing up, but I also love throwing on my pajamas the minute I get home," she says with a smile. "I brought some for you, too. They should fit."

The words hit late. Eyes went wide. A scream tore out and a pillow flew with too much strength. It struck the door just as it closed. What was I supposed to do with him? A laugh slipped out despite everything. The wardrobe doors were pulled open. Clothes stared back. Hoodies. Shorts. Training wear. Shifting clothes. That was it. A tired sigh followed as the gaze moved to the shopping bags on the floor. Leather skirts. Tight pants. Jackets that hugged too close. Crop tops. Jeans. New boots. Ash had picked them all. None of it felt like me. Still, his voice echoed in my head. Glow-up.

Ashley’s POV My reflection stared back at me, a stranger in my own skin. I was so used to drowning myself in oversized t-shirts and the comforting embrace of sweatpants.m that wearing something other than that felt odd. In place of my usual fits, I'd picked out a sundress from the array of clothes that Ashton had packed for me for this weekend. I ran a hesitant hand over the smooth fabric, the material clinging to my curves in places I never knew I had curves, accentuating the unfamiliar contours of my body. But it was the neckline that truly shocked me.

If I weren’t so worried about Elliot, I would’ve loved to explore her walk-in closet, but right now I just want to get the fuck out of here and go look for him. “This might be big on you”, Ashley says, and I smile. I really don’t care if it’s big. “I have an idea”, she says, she opens a set of double doors and walks through, and I follow her to see all of Killian’s clothes. She opens a drawer and grabs a t-shirt, and then walks back to her side and grabs a pair of leggings. “This should work, a kind of dress like top and leggings”, she says. I nod, not really wanting to tell her I wouldn’t hear clothes that belong to her husband, but I am in no position to argue right now.
