I gasped as it suddenly settled at the top of the vents, pulling the attention of almost everyone. "Is that bird?" I turned to the foreign woman beside me who couldn't help but exclaim in her language as she pointed with the scream, alerting the others. "How in God's name is it here?" I asked. "At least we know the cause of this" An Indian woman concluded with a sigh before walking away. And almost immediately there was a buzz in my bra, urging me to gasp in discomfort before i ran into the kitchen, pulling out my phone to see a call from Marc.

And he had stood in this spot in the woods so many times that Jared would have known he had been there the moment he had gone for a run into the woods. And last night, being on Ava’s balcony had been the riskiest thing he had done. He had crossed into Jared’s territory without an invitation. Jared would have sensed him or caught his scent. But it had been a full day, and there hadn’t been any retaliation. He didn’t trust that snake as far as he could throw him. Jared knew something; he had a bad feeling that snake was about to do something messed up. Why else would he have Ava alone in his house? Where were his Beta, Gamma, and all the other useless beings that hung around him all the time?

So the Violet Manor was truly the Divine Continent from all those years ago. The Flying-cloud Stone slowly moved toward a bamboo forest. They saw that there were no less than one hundred species of birds here of all colors imaginable. The cry of the birds made for a beautiful choir of sounds. They weren't startled even after facing humans. There was even a stream of clear spring passing through the forest. Flowers of all kinds bloomed in abundance on the riverbank, all of them unnameable.

Lucy… I smelled her too. It was at that point I stared at a bird and realized I could make out every specific, distinct feather on it as it flew. The wind vibrated the feathers a little, and there was a beautiful iridescent to its ebon coloring as it flew in the sun. It was a corvid, I realized. I could even see the bumps around its eyes before it flew out of my range. The issue was, the bird was at least two hundred feet above me. Having a vision like that was impossible for me.

Estella replied back changing the topic. “Indeed, and they are called birds of heaven. The ones which are red in color. And those, the blue ones, they are always in a pair, and they are called birds of soul.” Valor said explaining Estella about those birds, and continued with a question, “Haven’t you ever seen them, Estella? Or Don’t tell me, you just see the animals which you hunt!!” He raised his eyebrows and earned a hard glare from her side. She punched his forearm softly warning,

My lifeline. “It’s okay, Little Bird…” His voice finds me through the chaos I find myself lost in. “He won’t hurt you.” But he is… By taking you away from me and putting his hands on me… “Nathanial….” Andrea says his name in a clipped manner. “What is the meaning of this? Take your hands off Birdene this instant.” Spinning us around to face Andrea, a look of helplessness, for me, gleams in her hazel eyes that almost look identical to mine.

It wasn't a Phoenix, but a hummingbird. She had misunderstood it because of the size of the painting, and the abstract look of it, but the bird was actually a hummingbird. An idea crept Into her mind and Vivian hoped against hope that it would work. Slowly, her hands flew over the keypad as she typed in the words one after the other. After she typed it in she waited, and took in a deep breath, before her hands slowly inched towards the green button, then without a second's hesitation she pressed it.

“He went all the way to Thailand to see a Fluffy-Backed Tit-Babbler. I couldn’t fucking believe it.” Shaking his head, Colton tugged his phone from his pocket, typing a message to Kate; Did you know there’s a bird called a Tufted Titmouse? He could picture her face, reading the message with a disbelieving shake of her head as she Googled, seeing if he were telling the truth. He could hear her giggle, the little snort she made when she found something especially funny.

The sound wave hit the frequency of the Carrion Birds. High above the storm, a flock of mutated, scavenging vultures had been circling, waiting for the loser to die. They were attracted to high-pitched distress signals. One of the vultures, a forty-pound bird with a beak like a pickaxe, dove. It wasn't aiming for Valerius. It was diving for the source of the sound—Hailey. But Hailey slipped on a patch of slime. She fell. The bird missed her.

“I did not mean for you to…” Suddenly a blue haze surrounded Velsusi, and he began to shrink down while growing feathers. As he did, his arms became wings and his nose became a great hooked beak. His feathers were of a deep black with purple undertones. He inspected himself and flew up into the air. The whole crew stopped what they were doing and watched Velsusi soar toward the silver hawk. The great white bird lifted its wings and took flight. A great call came from it as it flew away. Velsusi followed. They circled in the air and over the trees. “What is he doing?” Termâs sounded a bit shocked.
