"Keep it steady!" I regained my footing between the bags, aimed, then took another two shots. One hit his upper arm, the other his shoulder, but he kept coming, unfazed by the gushing holes. I shifted my weight onto my other foot and grinned. I might not have stopped him, but the Thornblood dipped bullets had punctured him, binding shade and host to the same satisfying fate. I fired one last time, hitting him strait between his soulless eyes.

He continues glaring at my mother. My mother laughs “Oh, Markellus, my time is almost at hand and there is nothing you can do to stop it” she says with a voice devoid of emotion as she grips my hair harder causing me to scream. Hunter is on the porch, with a look of indecision. On one hand, he wants to help me, however, he is not my natural father so, when it pertains to my natural mother, not being biologically his, he cannot step in. My mother summons her power and launches Markus through the air, he falls with a crash into Hunters carriage house. Hunter and everyone else race towards Markus to help him as my mother shoves me into the car and drives off.

She gave him another look and couldn’t take her eyes off him. “How come he looks so damn attractive even when he’s sleeping peacefully?” She wondered aloud incredulously. She kept staring at the man and suddenly noticed the family crest on its bow, where she encountered a familiar symbol, she had only seen in classic vampire movies. “Why is this sort of scenario giving me a vampire movie vibe?” And she was about to check herself the ankh circa out of morbid curiosity, but when she touched it, something pricked her finger and caused it to bleed.

Silvia countered back. "She wants Violet to take her throne and go back to her kingdom," Hunter said. Violet's gaze flickered to Hunter and Lennox's jaw ticked but he controlled his rage. He stalked over to Violet who flinched when he stroked her hair back baring her shoulder. Hunter and Silvia's eyes widened upon seeing a mark on her neck and then he tilted his head showing a small mark on his neck as well. "As you can see, we marked each other and sealed the deal of treaty between the two kingdoms," He mused. Eyes shining sinisterly as he stroked the mark on her neck with his thumb and she flinched at the slightest of his touch.

He asked "Yes, just to know about vampires who are Vegetarian's." "Don't spill your blood just anywhere especially where vampires are. Okay." He said with a smile. That just confirmed that he was a vampire. A good one.... Unlike the annoying bastard. "Okay, I understand." I said with a smile. "Good, what is your name." He said "Veronica, as I said earlier." " I know, just tried to recall if anyone I knew is answer the name Veronica. " He said "My name is Justin mark." He added. "Cool, nice to meet you." I said as I stretched my hand out to shake his. His hands were extremely cold.

I curled around my stomach, trembling. When it was over, Damon knelt beside me. Blood smeared his shirt. His eyes searched mine. "Are you hurt?" I shook my head. He stood and motioned to the fallen attackers. One of his guards rolled up a sleeve. A tattoo. Black ink. A stylized wolf. I staggered closer. My breath caught. "That mark—I saw it. On the SUV. The day I crashed." Damon’s expression darkened. "It’s Andrei’s mark."

The werewolf raises its claws and desperately reached for my face but I evaded it and took out my knife and pierced it through its heart. I wiped the blood that splattered on my face and raised my head to find Rendall and Quinn. Rendall is owning this hunt by slashing the werewolf’s body mercilessly while Quinn, Quinn is nowhere to be found. “Quinn!” Finally, I saw a movement of Quinn’s bow and arrow behind the tree that is seven feet away from me. With a sigh of relief, I continued chasing another werewolf. It is faster and slimmer than the first one so I have to make sure that my eyes will always follow it.

Something like… mark me. And for a second, I let myself get lost in that thought, wondering what would happen if he does. I don’t think about the negatives, only the positives and how nothing or no one could tear us apart ever again because a Lycan’s mark is final and I guess a part of me did want that. I wanted to be his final girl. His end game. “Mine…” Hunter whispered and he came up to my face just as a low rumble sounded off from his chest.

He smiled. "Not just any huntress though. A damn Sanchez." He said, making Alpha Mark snarl at his mention of the name. "Oh oh! Sorry, did I upset you?" He asked dramatically. "Tell that to my dead relatives." He deadpanned. Mark shifted back to his human form, walking up to the vampire, naked. Nice butt! "Focus girl!" Athena looked briefly at me. I smirked. "I understand how you feel, Vince. Trust me." Mark said. Oh so that was his name?!

“Have you found it? Please… let me know as soon as you do. I really need it urgently. Thank you.” She ended the call and downed the entire drink in one gulp. Her eyes drifted back to the crescent mark on her own skin. For some reason, she felt… stronger. And she had no idea why. --- Across town, Calvin stepped into a large, dimly lit house filled with fellow hunters, each busy at their stations. Weapons were being cleaned, maps spread out, and radios crackled with incoming reports. At one table, Alice sat beside another hunter, eyes fixed on a laptop screen as she typed and spoke in low tones.
