She asked through the barrier, her voice breaking. “Your people attacked the Edison farm, exploding in the front entrance, went up the stairs to where Jules Edison was engaged in the werewolf and vampire mating ceremonies with my sibling Harry. Your people unloaded your guns into my vampire sibling, riddling their torso with bullets before following up with a shot through the eye, and then dragged Jules Edison, weakened through the blood exchange of becoming a vampire, downstairs, and shot him,” Meguitte pronounced each word with deliberation, making sure it would be heard by all.

Despite the strangeness of the situation, Melia found herself finding his astonishment rather amusing. "Vampire..." he murmured, his gaze shifting towards Melia. Before I could slip away, he cornered me, and his lips curled into a smug smirk. “Ah, there you are, darling,” he said and kissed my ear.
