Most vamps come full circle at 19.” “Fuck, like puberty?” “No, more like powers and talents,” Lenny said, “And it does hurt—some say it breaks bones, weakens the system until they’re fully awake.” “They just get more and more strange,” Evans smiled down at Walker, “Come on, man, don’t die on us now.” “Send trackers to get,-” Metgar was about to send his team when he heard the sound of another buggy, “Well, I’ll be damned!” They watched Jenny and Roxie come barreling towards them with Roxie jumping out of the buggy and rushing to Walker’s aid.

I ask her. “Yes. My second is bringing my more experienced vampires, as the fledglings will only hinder our operation at the smell of blood. We are still weaning them off human blood and onto animal blood, even though it’s been a few decades,” Aileen answers with a sigh. “Wait, your coven doesn’t drink human blood?” Sabrina asks, her eyes wide with surprise. “No,” Aileen replies, looking at the human with a gentle gaze. “You see, the fledglings in my coven were those attacked by other vampires around Ottawa. They would have died if I hadn’t stepped in and asked them if they wanted to be turned.”

Some awaken instantly, and others can take days. If a human dies with vampire blood in their system, they have a chance of becoming a vampire. Though, usually humans die before the change. Sometimes, they die during the change. It happens when their bodies are too weak. Vampires who were born vampires are referred to as fledglings during their childhood. They have heightened senses, but they aren’t considered full vampires. They can’t suck blood and they don’t have any special abilities. They are practically humans with good hearing and sight. Once they turn 18, their bodies will start the change. It’s incredibly painful for them. Their hearts have to stop and then restart in order for the c

I would wield it as a weapon, harness its power to bring justice to those who had wronged me. And so, with a renewed sense of purpose, I rode on, deeper into the heart of the Black Woods. The wind whispered my name, a haunting melody that echoed through the trees. My heart, though battered and scarred, pulsed with a determination that could not be extinguished. For in the depths of darkness, where secrets and shadows dance, that's where everything would emerge from. That's where the Vampire's Flower would be buried and a devil would be born. The horse came to a halt as it couldn't enter the forest any further. I got off of it as I walked in the direction of my mother's grave. But, that was w

I leaned my head against his shoulder, feeling that desire to be close to him again and felt safety in it. "Okay," I whispered to him and then smiled happily, starting to walk with him towards the door. He lead me towards the night room, humming lightly. "So last night when you were sleeping Silas got his first fledgling. You're not the only fledgling in the castle anymore which means I have to be extra careful with you. You see sometimes when fledglings meet each other they'll attack each other because they faulty think the other is human and fledglings crave human blood. Fledglings usually have a stronger aroma due to being in the turning process. I'm almost certain you'll be fine since yo

“Of course, I'm sorry if I interrupted. I-I might go and have something to eat.” “Of course, Miss Brennan.” The door closed and I rushed down the hall, my face on fire with embarrassment. I climbed into the elevator and leaned against the wall, as it took me down to the lobby. Did all Syre’s feed their fledglings? Wasn’t Madison a full vampire by now? She would be old enough. Were they lovers? Had their Syre/fledgling relationship taken on a more serious role, and they were going to be Mated? I thought only vampires over a certain age could be Mated. They grabbed a leg each and tugged the dead vampire towards the funeral pyre as Jim retrieved the head and arm lying close by.

So, during the process of my onslaught, she bit me and the venom spread out in my body and believe me when I say this but it is one in a million chances that, the body fights back the venom and instead lets it bind to the cells like it happens with other vampire fledglings.
