“I’m fine without your company. There are many other men here who would love to have a girl such as yourself flaunted in front of them.” As if I told her to go whore herself around somewhere else, she straightens her back with a huff and stomps away. The high heels she’s wearing slip from under one foot, causing her to buckle slightly as she spins out of view. I try to keep a smile of satisfaction from finding my face at the awful attempt of trying to make me feel bad for letting someone like her get away, but it’s useless. A sly smirk forms across my mouth from her pitiful attempt.

Although as vampires we were meant to blend in, Vanessa never got that memo. She stood leaning up against the door frame talking to Mum and Dad. As they moved out of the way, she sauntered in. She was wearing black leather trousers with a matching jacket and a low cut red tee tucked into her waistband. She was already tall for a woman, at least five foot eleven, but her four-inch heels made her tower over even my dad. Her raven black hair came down below her shoulders and hung loosely. By far her best feature was her ocean-blue eyes, framed by naturally long black lashes.

"You are now officially student of Vampire high, welcome to Vampire High. You're journey begins here." ~~~ I smiled as I opened the door of my room and almost gasped as I was exposed to a large room, as in too big! Living room, kitchen Then there are two more hallways. It's a house and not a room. The interior theme is black and the furniture theme is white. There are paintings hanging on the wall. "Roommate." I looked at the one who's spoken. I saw the woman leaning against a wall where I could pass. Long black hair that I think is knee-length, black lipstick, black eyeliner, black nails, and is wearing a black t-shirt and black pants.

Hayley turned immediately. The hallway was dead quiet. Then, a black high heel stepped out first. Click. After the heel hit the floor, a long leg wrapped in sheer black stockings wobbled into view. Then, a short black skirt. A fitted black blazer. A white blouse. The figure stumbled down the stairs awkwardly. Whoever that zombie had been in life, it clearly hadn't been good at walking in heels. Momentum carried it forward, and it staggered several steps before catching itself. Then it stopped, its head hung low.

Low and unmistakable, but no one was there. The vampires froze. The woman’s eyes narrowed at the space behind me. “Fae,” she spat. My chest tightened. “What?” She turned to me, eyes blazing. “You’re one of them.” Then everything exploded. The tall one moved first, faster than I could see. One second he was ten feet away, the next he was lunging, teeth bared, hand outstretched toward my throat. I didn’t think or scream. I reacted. Something inside me flared.

It was exactly what I needed. I slipped it on, the velvet cool and soft against my skin. I tied the waist belt, cinching it in. It hugged my curves in a way that made me feel feminine rather than "frumpy." I paired it with turquoise velvet stilettos - shoes with a heel so sharp they could be classed as a concealed weapon. I hadn't worn heels like this since before Harry was born. As I stepped into them, I felt my posture shift, my spine lengthening.

“Correct! So let’s move on to Lesson 2. In the next few days, you’ll get used to everything since we’re taking it step by step. I’ll just guide you whenever I see something that needs correction.” She held my arm and pulled me toward a row of boxes on the floor. “What’s that?” “Shoes.” My eyes practically turned into hearts. I loved shoes—especially unique designs. I hated plain ones, and if they had heels, they had to be one inch only, so I wouldn’t struggle walking. Belle opened a box. The heart-shape in my eyes immediately shattered. They were stilettos—with heels tall enough to be used as murder weapons. They must have been five inches high.

“Of course not.” Samantha turns walking over to a cabinet pulling out a pair of high heels. When she hands them to me I can't help but stare at them. They’re beautiful four inch heels completely covered in diamond rhinestones that match the jewels that line the angel wings. I quickly strap them on like they might disappear right before my eyes. “I wanted to check with you one more time about the virgin thing.” Samantha‘s words pull me away from dreamily admiring my heels.

She's the chosen one so she'd naturally feel attached to our species without even knowing. "Uhm, do you want me to set up a bed for you?" She asked me. "I wouldn't be sleeping." "So you're just going to sit there and watch me sleep?" "Basically. Or I could lay on the bed with you if you'd like." I shot her a smirk knowing full well what effect it had on her. Vampires could sense pretty well human emotions. She took a dazed glance at my lips then refocused back on my eyes. "N-no there would be more than fine." With that, she hopped on her bed and grabbed her laptop making me frown while watching her silently.
