A friend of theirs? A cousin maybe? I hoped that she was not a close relative of theirs or else this obsession would become a whole lot more complicated. A vampire and hunter having a more than platonic relationship was not only illegal, but suicide.

The Delicate Dependency, A Novel Of The Vampire Life BY MICHAEL TALBOT There are some who believe this is the best vampire novel ever written. He was too lenient in tormenting me, unlike what he did to Danrious. Perhaps he's so furious with Kaelyn because she's Tita Rose's daughter from his first marriage. I walked down the hallway, carrying the books I borrowed from the library. The final exams are approaching, and even though I might be a vampire, I still need to study to interact with people. I looked at my arm, which was growing pale, with my green and violet veins prominently visible. Glancing at the clock as I passed by, I realized it was already morning, and I needed to hurry home.

I hugged myself, not being able to look him in the eye. "Longer, actually…" I said quietly, but he heard me. He straightened himself before moving a bit closer to me and placing a hand on my leg, "Please, tell me." He said sweetly, I nodded. "Ever since I was a girl, I've had these strange dreams; at the start they were just of me running until I came to a halt with hundreds of eyes staring at me." He sat silently as I spoke, "Then they became different," he gave me a curious look but I continued, “It started showing both the vampires and werewolves and recently, in every dream, I’ve come close to death. And for some reason, for the past two nights, there’s this red moon that keeps popping u

I quickly agreed. “It was a vampire frenzy.” He shook his head while he pulled up the memories “It all happened so fast. Once I was freed from the battle for my own life, I rushed to assist Sasha. She was obviously much younger and less experienced than Nevi. By the time I’d conquered my attackers; Nevi had taken care of the four surrounding him and was at his wife’s side.” He was silent for a while, obviously fighting the emotions battling within him. “I’d been a handler for an easy twenty years by then,” he continued, “but I’d never run into a vampire born of a human before. In truth, there aren’t many out there to run into. Anyway, I didn’t expect his human emotions to pour forth like the

Changes happened twenty-seven years ago, which is also the year when Flint and Kasper were born. They also killed humans, but they only did it if they are harming them. "Since you're a vampire, do you drink blood?" I asked because from what I know, they're always thirsty for blood and he hasn't shown any sign of that.

He simply wanted to talk, lies, he had bought something for me which was probably the truth but not enough to get me to see him. Suddenly, Luca swiveled around to look at me. “Have you seen the latest news on X?" He said excitedly, as if he had found a gold mine. I stared blankly, “Of course I haven't, what is it?" He shook his head, go check for yourself” I opened my X app and went to trending, there I would find some news. Immediately I found it, ‘Two ancient vampires dead’ my heart skipped a beat. Valentina stays human, weapons ready. The first hunter sees us coming. Raises his rifle. I'm faster. Hit him low, under the gun. Teeth find his throat before he can fire. Blood floods my mouth, hot and coppery. He goes down choking. Tom takes the second hunter. Rips the gun away, then the arm holding it. The hunter screams. Valentina stakes the third through the heart. Vampire hunter, dead before he hits the ground. Three down. Three left. The remaining hunters regroup. Smarter now. Backs together, covering angles.
