Adrian's POV Vampires had no true dawn. The sky over the Prince's domain was forever wrapped in heavy night. But when the old clock in the manor struck its sixth toll, I knew the long night had passed. I didn't get drunk again. But the dream didn't fade. If anything, it grew clearer. Clear enough that I could no longer explain it away as a dream. I saw another lifetime. In that lifetime, the Council forced Clara back into the human world.

The tears she'd forced out hung awkwardly on her lashes. "Clara, get up. Thank your sister for her blessing." Father sighed in relief. "Th-thank you, sister." Clara bounced out happily.
