Vanessa Brooks Blade Novels & Stories

I continued calmly, “we also discovered the real daughters of one too.” “You bitch!” Anna screamed suddenly, pointing at Mom and I. “You won’t destroy my family!” But before her finger stayed up for more than two seconds Blade moved. The slap echoed loudly across the entire room. Anna crashed back onto her knees instantly. Blade stood over her coldly. “Who gave you permission to point those filthy fingers at them?” he asked dangerously. Anna held her burning cheek in complete shock. Fear finally entered her eyes properly now. Vanessa suddenly stepped backward slowly.

The sound of dragon wings filled the air, the roar of beasts signaling the start of something far greater than anyone could predict. Vanessa took a breath and straightened her back. There was no going back now. If she was going to be the weapon, then she would wield it herself. To be continued...

Marina began to debate between herself. When she finally decided to leave the room, Marina heard a noise come out from the laundry basket near the bathroom door. She grinned sheepishly when she saw a sign of Vanessa's dress inside it. "You can do better Vanessa. I already found you" she rushed there and stabbed the knife inside the clothes. Vanessa screamed out loud, holding the sharp edge of the knife. She jerked up from the basket, the many dirty laundry flew out. The knife cut her hand deeply. "I told you not to mess with me.." Marina said, she grinned, seeing the blood pouring from Vanessa's hand pleased her. She struck the knife at Vanessa again, Vanessa moved Swiftly and dodged it.

Why she is so fucking resistant to my advances. She wasn’t like other girls in this school. She was quiet and kept to herself. She didn’t care what other people had to say and she wasn’t begging to have a cock in her like all the other dumb bitches were. She was untouchable, or at least that’s what Brady had told me. God knows he spent a stupid amount of time speaking to Noah about her just so that he could relay that information back to me. Which is why he believed I was making a mistake. Because out of everything that Noah supposedly told him…Vanessa wasn’t someone who was easily taken. And after last night…my decision was sealed. There was no way in hell any guy here would be able to make

Blade came out with his usual all black clothing—a big black sweatshirt, a black baggy jean, black glasses, black face cap, black sneakers— and a revolver carefully tucked by his side. To my shock, the passenger door opened and a girl came out. She was obviously young, probably fourteen or fifteen with red hair and a round hazel eyes which peered at me through the glass of the coffee shop. I couldn’t help but wonder who she was and why Blade had decided to bring her along. They both shared words before walking towards the coffee shop. “Emily!” Blade called as he walked inside with his companion right behind him. “I’m right here,” I said waving my hands in the air to draw his attention.

Then closed it again. Fair point. Still… “I don’t even have a weapon.” Vance reached behind his back and pulled a second blade from his belt. Shorter than his sword. But sharp. Very sharp. He tossed it. Lena barely caught it before it hit the ground. Her eyebrows shot up. “You’re giving me a knife?” “You’ll need it.” She turned the blade in her hand. The weight felt strange. Unfamiliar. “I’ve never used one of these.” “Then today is your first day.”

Mira sat across from him, her expression serious. "Lord Kael. I need to tell you something." Kael leaned forward. "What is it?" "Lady Isara didn't send me to learn about the academy. She sent me to find the Twin Blades." Kael's heart stopped. "What?" "Your weapons. The silver and gold blades. She believes they're the source of your power. She wants them for herself." Kael stared at her. "Why are you telling me this?"

My skin prickled with his heat. The child inside me gave a sharp, frantic kick—a pulse of raw energy that made the overhead lights flicker and die. "The diversion was necessary," Damian said. He reached into his tactical vest. He didn't pull a weapon. He held out his hand, palm up. Resting in his glove was the sliver of polished titanium I’d been craving. My Phantom Blade. "A tool must be sharp, Elena. I told you that once." He walked to the nursing chair and sat, ignoring the twitching Harvester Shell on the floor. He placed the needle on the small wooden table between us.

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with Julian? What, he's getting married, so he's tired of playing with you?" There was nothing worth saying to her. Vanessa nodded, her voice flat. "Yes." Her reaction made Rose choke on her words, her mouth opening and closing, unsure of what to say. "...You, how can you be so shameless?" "Yes, I'm shameless." Vanessa no longer had the energy to argue with her. "Miss Lane, please don't argue with a shameless person like me in public. Don't you think it lowers your status?" When her surname was Voss, Vanessa had a sharp tongue. Now that her surname was Brooks, she was just as formidable.

Lady Natasha’s horse reared, her eyes flashing as she turned on me. “We’ve been set up! Counterstrike!” she barked. “Flank the Romanos before they cut through—” She stopped mid-command. I had already turned, my blade slicing cleanly through one of her soldiers. He dropped without a sound. I met her eyes across the chaos. “It’s over, Natasha,” I said, my voice steady, colder than I felt. “You’re not hurting Brooks anymore.” For a moment, something fragile flickered across her face. Shock, maybe even sorrow, but it vanished as quickly as it came. Then she laughed. Low. Bitter. Cruel.
