Vanessa Brooks Blade Novels & Stories

Instead of pressing his lips to hers for now he shifts his head just a little and leans in to whisper next to her ear. “Don’t fight and you may enjoy this as much as we will.” Elizabeth tries to step back from him but Blade holds her firm until he moves, bending and slipping his arm down over her arse to the back of her thighs so that as he straightens he lifts her up and throws her over his shoulder. Blade turns, walks off of the balcony, through the bedroom into the entry and back out to where Silas and Xana are still waiting for him. Silas smirks liking what he sees he quickly moves turning Xana, picking her up and throwing her over his shoulder.

She cut into her next opponent’s chest, then swung around and slashed across his neck. He frantically clutched at his throat, which quickly gushed out a river of blood. And while his guard was completely down, Eva drove her blade through his chest, pierced his heart, and out his back. She found that now that her blade was half as thin as it was when combined, cutting through metal and bone had become an absolute breeze. Each slice and thrust felt effortless for her to do, no doubt a product of Alevos’ careful attention to her blade’s edge geometry.

Elena vaulted off the platform, her boots carrying her across the gravel in a shimmering blur of silver light. She drove her silver-rimmed dagger downward, aiming to sever the thick, pulsing vine wrapping around his arm. But the moment her blade sliced into the wood, the briar didn't cut—it bled. A violent, concussive spray of black fluid erupted from the wound, hitting her chest vest and sending a shockwave of cold, anti-spiritual agony straight through her core.

"After he threw me away, I had nothing. No one saw me. No one cared. I was invisible." "I see you." Elena held out her hand. "Put the knife down. Let me help you." Vanessa looked at her hand. At her face. At the knife in her own hand. For one breath, two, three—Elena thought it was over. She thought Vanessa would drop the knife, would break, would let herself be helped. Then her face hardened. Her hand steadied. Her eyes went cold. "You can't help me," she said. "No one can." She lunged. —

Even if she wasn't wearing a bodysuit, she would have been fine. "Oh, let me show you then," Xara had a calm smile on her face. She waved her hands and a pair of red and black dual blades entered her hands, the blades were beautifully designed. Both 2'5ft tall and a few inches wide, it was wavy and there were endless small runes and grooves etched into the blade similar to Xasha's own Storm Caller.

This time her claws found a weak spot in my barrier. Pain exploded across my arm. Blood poured from three deep gashes. Silver. She'd used silver. The wounds burned and wouldn't heal. I fought back with everything Christian taught me. Block. Dodge. Counter-Strike. But Vanessa was bigger. Stronger. More experienced. And I was tired. “You took everything from me,” Vanessa snarled, landing a hit to my ribs. “My father. My mother. My pack. My entire life.” “I didn't—” I gasped for air. “I didn't do anything to you.”

"She always was. And I was too stupid to see it until it was too late." Another bullet hit me, this time in the shoulder. The impact spun me around, but I stayed on my feet through sheer force of will. Vanessa pulled a knife from her belt—not silver, just steel, but deadly enough. "If I can't have you, no one can. And if she's the reason you chose this—" She tried to move toward Emma's unconscious form. I shifted and hit her with every ounce of strength I had left. We rolled across the blood-soaked ground, teeth and claws tearing at each other with savage intensity.

I ignore my subconscious mind as I walk out of Beth's room and follow Vanessa. I sight Meena ahead standing at the end of the hallway pressing her phone. Vanessa brings out an object that looks like a knife. My eyes widen. Vanessa was reaching for Meena and I have no idea what to do. I decide to do one thing. "Meena!" Meena flinched. "If you so much as try to make any sudden moves, I swear I'll slit your throat!," the feminine voice threatened. Leslie felt her eyes glaze over as the grip of the blade on her throat tightened. "Vanessa?" "Surprise, surprise, bitch,!" Vanessa spat out venomously, clad in a black hoodie and matching tight leggings. Vanessa had a crazed, expression on her face, her eyes red and puffy, lips chapped and slowly turning black.
