“Alpha Antonio, are you okay?” I stepped out of the vehicle, ignoring his outstretched hand to help me up. The car in a matter of seconds got licked up by flames entirely, and it was at this moment I realized I had been too consumed by pain to notice I would have been roasted beef if I hadn’t gotten out. “Fuck…” I cursed under my breath, and my gaze involuntarily went in search of Jennita. Was I hallucinating about her again back then in the vehicle? “Alpha Antonio.” She approached me, and it was then I recognized the grey-eyed man by her side as Gamma Louis. “Are you okay?” Her question seemed concerning, but there was no trace of warmth in them.

I tried to speak, but my throat was so dry. Eve quickly leaned closer and gave me a sip of water. "Don’t speak, just eat.” Her face was pale, but she forced a gentle smile. I looked up at her and whispered, "Eve, you’re alive. I’m so glad." She nodded, tears in her eyes, and tore off another piece of meat, pressing it to my lips. I clenched my mouth shut, shaking my head frantically. Eve’s gaze was firm. "Emma, you need to stay alive. There’s hope as long as you’re alive."

"We were wrong! Please spare her! She surely knows her mistake now too! Her spiritual power is weak. The fall will kill her!" The three beastmen watched her collapse and kneel with leisurely satisfaction. Victoria's screams gradually faded away, but I knew they were not done with her.
