Viking Female Names Novels & Stories

Dalia Grey Vision Nordic lands 650 B.C Bjørn Stormrider was returning from his viking raids and like every other drakkar he had a longship full of loot from his pillagings and an unrelenting hitched to be buried once again in the arms of his wife and daughter

Brenna interrupted. "—and now you're saying you've got nothing?" Helena, who had come with a notebook entitled 'Names That Change the World', brandished it like a banner. "I've practiced for this. Top of the list are: Astrid, Cordelia, Juniper, Persephone— "She's not a Greek goddess," Brenna complained. "She could be," Helena replied. "Have you seen her eyelashes?" Lily ignored them both, never once taking her gaze from Vandaulf. "Seriously, love. This is your moment. What's her name?"

"Fenrir. A son of the god, Loki. It's a very powerful name. A very powerful wolf." Liv met the woman's intense gaze. Her voice wrapped around Liv like a warm blanket. A feeling of profound comfort came over her and she let out a little sigh. "I knew it was Norse. I've been told my father's people were from Denmark…or what is Denmark now," she said. Suddenly, she just wanted to curl up and take a nap, preferably in the giant Viking's generous lap. What? She shook herself. What was going on with her today. She needed to get out of here and back to the woods. All the concrete was obviously making her loopy.

the manager explained the detail of the ring that caught Ashley's eyes. "Astrid? Ten million dollars?" Ashley gasped in amazement. "That ring was called Astrid, which means divinely beautiful," Miss Lily explained. Seeing the two women only focused their eyes on Astrid, Ashton went to join them. "Mr Grey, looks like Miss White is interested with Astrid. Should I take it out so she could try it on? What do you think?" Miss Lily spoke immediately right after Ashton reached them. "Oh, no no no... That's just too expensive. I'll just get a regular one," Ashley refused instantly, didn't want to trouble Ashton to buy her an over-priced wedding ring.

“I’m Adelina and I’m calling from KlasyRhodes fashion home, Luanda. We need you to create some designs ma. We want to put up a fashion show and we need new unusual foreign designs.” Could she just stop with the madam thing, Chava had cringed one of her fists already; she didn’t like to be addressed with ‘ma’. Luanda? That was an African country and the caller didn’t sound like a regular client. Where did she get her contact from? “OK, my name is Chava or you can call me Miss Ava.” She smiled. “OK mad--sorry, Miss Ava. How much is your rate?” “When is the deadline? And how many designs?”

My fingers brushed page after page, ancient languages dancing across the parchment. “Don’t let them take your name,” my mother’s voice echoed in my head. What name? Then I found it. A list. Faded ink. A wolf-clan registry, half-burned along the edges. Norway’s oldest families. Lineages guarded by silence and magic. And there it was. Not Bella. Bellana Halvorsen. A forbidden name. Buried by war and exile. One of the last surviving bloodlines tied to the original nine packs of Norway—the clans that once ruled before the Council erased them.

She looked at him angrily. “I am not who you think I am. My name is Maxine Croftfire and I am the captain of The Life. I am a Valkyrie,” she said. “Smart try,” William said, laughing. “The only thing is, we know too well that Valkyries don’t exist any longer and also…”

The wolf smelled female and I could also tell by her scent she was unmated so as to why she was all the way up here peaked my interest so I opened a mindlink to her “What’s your name she wolf?” “Signe Halvorsen, Alpha” she bared her neck in submission keeping her gaze lowered “What is your business here?” I slowly circled her wolf form observing her body language “He jumped again didn’t he?” Her voice was clear in response despite the coastal sea spray winds whipping around us on the cliff I narrowed my eyes on her form “How many times has he jumped?” “Multiple times a month over the last few years” Fenris rumbled in my chest at her admission

Some even think that I had been given the wrong name, that it is a disgrace I am named after the goddess Freya. They were planning a raid in another country. Years ago, some Vikings started raiding unfamiliar countries, and now they were going to do it again in a country they heard travelers call America. And as they would be gone a long time, I was to go with them, not to fight but to celebrate their victory by holding the wedding there. I wanted to fight and raid with them, but Leif wouldn’t let me. He said he didn’t want a wife with battle scars.

I let go of the hug, and Nick looked reluctant to let me go. "You may have heard of the name in Norse mythology; Valkyries are war goddesses. There are only 16 Valkyries in the world, and Alice is one of them." I still didn't understand. "So, she's a... goddess?" Nick chuckled softly and shook his head, "That's just a human assumption. Like vampires and Volders, they're just myths." "I don't understand."
