Violet dispatched another rogue, her eyes took on a soft, familiar glow, but I couldn’t tell if that was her wolf or just magic. “Keep pushing!” I shouted, urging my warriors to maintain the pressure on the rogues. “Don’t let them outflank us!” I barked at the guard to my left before another wolf lunged at me. I dispatched it quickly, but my gaze flicked back to Violet as she gutted another wolf, swiped a shield from my guard and charged forward, sending a large rogue flying back into a rock. By then, the numbers had evened out a little more. Another howl sounded and they all turned and started to flee. One of my guards started to run after them.

"Want to continue trying?" A few of the dark warriors began to look uneasy, but their commander ordered them to move in again and they had no choice but to obey. "Bad choice." Elaina laughed batting her wings and sending them flying into a crevice in the earth. Screams erupted as they connected with the lava and it was like a beautiful song to Elaina's ears. "Elaina!" The voice instantly drew Elaina's attention. Looking around she found herself staring at Christopher who had just stabbed one of the dark warriors through the chest and was now making his way towards her followed closely behind by Chase.

I sprint through the sea of rogues, my claws out and swinging as I make it out as far as I can, putting space between me and Gemini. Then I spin to face her, my eyes meeting hers from the short distance as she fights to stand, moving toward the barrier only to be caught. By Violet again, pulling her back.

And everyone in the room was backing him. Violet looked at the faces of her supposed family- her mother, her in-laws, her sister -all of them united against her. She had no one left. No allies. No support. Not even the child she carried in her belly could protect her from the cold, brutal reality of what was happening. She was being erased from her own life. Tears streamed down her cheeks as her hands fell limp at her sides. The fight drained from her body. “I won’t let you take my father’s company,” she whispered, but her voice was weak, full of defeat.
