Jade blurted out before she could stop herself. Jin seemed surprised for a moment, but then, burst out in laughter. He winked at Jade and whispered, “Old enough.” Embarrassed, Jade tried to find something to distract herself. And to avoid looking at Jin. “What do you think?” Jin said, breaking the silence. Finally getting over her shame, Jade cleared her throat and tried to look serious. “How?” “There is a legend around here… About the four Holy Beasts responsible for protecting the four kingdoms—”

I said. “Good. I’m glad you see that.” He said. “Lucas. You just have to trust me.” I said. But he looked at me for a long time, really hesitantly. “Alright. I trust you.” He said. Violet came running back to my hospital room not long after that and she was out of breath and tears were streaking her face. “What’s wrong?” I asked. “You were right. Chasing that redheaded bitch was a distraction. People were attacked while the warriors were chasing her.” Violet said.

he said, trying to reach for Violet’s snout. She snarled at him and I realized he was wearing gloves. Why on earth would he be wearing gloves? Just as the thought hit Violet … Gunner whipped a silver chain over her! We both felt the searing pain and Gunner quickly picked us up and moved to the front of the house. “Now you be a good girl, let Ellie shift back and I’ll remove the chain,” he said. How the hell could I get the strength to shift with silver on me, I immediately thought. Violet whimpered and tried to roll around to get the chain off but it just burned us in different places.

Violet returned the gesture. "I am Stacey, she is Delilah, and she is Rose. We are the widows of warriors, brave souls who were martyred in the immortal realm massacre," the tallest woman of grioup introduced themselves. Violet’s countenance dimmed as she braced herself, anticipating the accusation she felt was coming. "Nice to meet you all," she replied, smiling.

“I was supposed to be his Luna. I am his Luna. The moon goddess doesn’t make mistakes.” Chloe leaned back and cupped her face. “Maybe not. But sometimes the path to what we’re meant to be is… cruel. Maybe this isn’t the end. Or maybe it is. Either way, you are still you. Violet Sinclair. Warrior. Leader. Not some weeping shadow of yourself.” She wiped her face with the back of her hand, sniffling. “I hate that I still love him.” “You and I both know that you do not love him, you love the title and prestige that comes with being his Luna". Chloe had always been candid with her.

Huang Hai bellow, firing a blast at Violet. A high-tiered Beast Lord, Violet could never survive a blow from Huang Hai, who was obviously taking advantage of his greater strength. All color drained from her face. Enraged, Scarlet fired another blast of her own to nullify Huang Hai’s attack, hissing threateningly, "How dare you show such insolence in our territory!" Huang Hai was only too surprised to learn that Scarlet too was an Immortal-level champion. "Everyone," Huang Hai called his fellow mutant champions, "Let’s kill these vixens here and now! We cannot let anyone else know about what happened to us here or we’d never be able to tolerate the scandal!"

That was the voice of the hairy legged warrior. The pounding of feet rang out again… this time fading out as they retreated. Violet wasn't sure how but she was able to step away from the tree. She came towards the three warriors and looked at them with her big, glistening baby eyes, making them hiss like overprotective elder brothers. "Son of a..." The tattooed warrior hissed as he ran a hand through his hair. Violet was about to thank them for saving her when the tattooed warrior forwarded a recognizable stick-on note along with a folded piece of paper.

BAYNE’S POV I hated having my hands tied. I hated not doing anything for her and most of all, I fucking hated that she was going through so much hate. There were two sides of Violet. One she was the warrior, a fighter ready to take down the whole world and the second, was just a broken woman desperate for a soul healing. This part of her craved a heart to love her and I was glad that she was ours. I was glad she had three hearts to control and do with them however she wanted to.

His movements were quick and precise, and he proved to be the strongest among them. "Wait for me," Violet called as she gripped her horse's reins with one hand and urged it forward with a swift kick. She wielded her sword, cutting down as many warriors as she could. One managed to scratch her hand, and she groaned in pain, inspecting the wound, which fortunately appeared to be minor. "Are you alright?" Ezra inquired, still in the thick of battle as he expertly dispatched another opponent trying to mount his horse. He delivered a powerful kick to the warrior's face, sending him sprawling to the ground.
