Inside, students were already warming up casting spells, activating runes, flexing claws, sharpening elemental focus.
“Students of Class A,” our instructor called out, standing at the center of the ring. He was tall, broad shouldered, with silver hair tied back. His name was Instructor Dorian Vance, a battle mage with scars that made students whisper rumors about dragon battles and ancient wars.
“Today is one-on-one combat. Standard rules,” Dorian announced. “No fatal attacks. Win conditions: knockout, mana depletion, or immobilization.”
