Elora’s POV I woke up to the pungent smell of what seemed to be a herbal medicine invading my nostrils. The room was silent apart from my heavy breathing. I slowly got up and lifted my eyelids. I squinted in an attempt to sharpen the blurry image surrounding me. However, a sharp pain stung my eyeballs as soon as the light hit them. It felt as if my whole eyeballs were dried up. It gave me some discomfort making me blink a couple of times in an attempt to wet it with my tears. Unfortunately, it didn’t help so I ended up rubbing them. That was when I noticed that no matter what I do, my vision didn’t seem to enhance at all.

I mopped off the sweat that had covered my brows. Today was a different one. I had flashes of things I couldn't understand. Sometimes when I look at the vanity mirror, I see a blurry image, very unclear. I try to refocus, to see the image properly, but I always ended up with a splitting head that makes me feel like ripping off my head.

Elysian eyes snapped open, sweat forming on her forehead making her hair sticking on it. She saw white, the brightness of the light burnt her eyes making her closed them briefly before opening them again, she batted her eyes slowly to adjust to the brightness. She could listen to her breathing through the inhaler mask, heat coming from her nose made the glasses blurry. She turned her head carefully, an image of someone was blurry at first, she squinted her eyes a little to fix her vision until the image became clearer. She saw a man sitting beside her, his head was hanging low as his arms were crossing on his chest.

(Isabella’s POV) My eyes flutter open slowly, trying to focus on where I am, but my eyelids feel heavy. It’s as if I am sitting in a thick fog. I can’t find a focal point in the room as all the images appear distorted, especially the sharp edges and corners of furniture and walls. They blur into oblivion. The further away from sleep my brain gets, the more aware I become of the throbbing sensation behind my eyes. It radiates to the bones behind my ringing ears.

I muttered under my breath as mom shook my shoulder. "Dear?" Ah, now I understand why my vision is blurry. It's because my tears are flowing profusely right now…
