Bright lights surround me, too sharp and blinding to bear. I squint, my eyelids fluttering as I try to make sense of my surroundings. Everything feels hazy and disjointed, like I’m caught in a dream I can’t wake up from. I can barely make out what looks like the interior of a room—maybe a bedroom—but the light burns my eyes, making it difficult to see my surroundings clearly. The sting is painful, and it makes my head ache.

Even my hands felt it too, itching to release tension by clenching my knuckles, but when I did, there was no sound and the numbness didn't subside. I exhaled through my lips, trying not to let my situation bother me. i spent another hour at work until I finished printing all the papers. However, just as I had finished organizing everything, my vision suddenly became blurry. The things I saw were moving sometimes merging into two, then back into one, fading away. Even when I tightly closed my eyes and rubbed them, nothing changed. In the midst of my struggle to regain clear vision, Bella turned to face me and asked, "What's happening?"

Like my eyes can’t decide what they want to do.”

Slowly my eyesight became blurry because of the teardrops that gathered there. "Did I choose wrongly?"

I close my left eye and focus with my right. When I look around the room, things are still blurry. “It’s still the same,” I tell the doctor, and Mom lets out a sob.

My vision is getting blurry and I close my eyes for a few seconds. “Jude, baby, what is going on?” I can hear Bonnie’s voice in the background, but I can’t even open my eyes. My head hurts so much that I feel like I am going to throw up.

The outline of the healer’s figure came into view. But even as everything seemed to be in place, my vision didn't clear out. My vision remained blurry. “How is it?” she asked. “My vision is blurry,” I finished. My voice was quieter than I intended. It felt like something was sitting behind my eye. The woman stepped closer. I could make out her shape, but not her face. Not clearly. “Squint,” she instructed. I tried to do as she said but a dull pain hit my eyes once more. My eyes suddenly felt tired. I closed them to allow them to rest.
