"Where are you going? Join me." "Thanks, but I have to work, remember?" Vivian replied and went out to attend to her other customers. Scott sat there. As he ate he watched her move from table to table. She had a way with people, he thought as she watched her deliver orders, taking her time to listen to her customers with a smile plastered on her face. He'd never thought once in his life that he'd find staring at a waitress so fascinating and captivating. Vivian returned to his table when she was sure that her customers were satisfied and she could take a little break.

Taylor smirked. “Then let’s play something I can play.” Taylor thought for a moment before saying, “Dice, then. It’s easy. If you’ve got hands, you’re qualified. You at least know how to compare totals, right?” I nodded. “That works. Let’s start.” Then, I walked straight to the card table and sat down on the side against the wall. “Oh, Maisie, you’re challenging Taylor at dice? You’ve already lost. Taylor’s the queen of dice. Even the pros can’t beat her.”

I stated. “Luningnig, ma’am,” she said, stepping forward. “My baby is allergic to some spices, so you have to be very careful when handling her meals. Gabriel is going to give her food menu to you and mine included,” I set forth. “We are done here. Gabriel, show them to their rooms, and then they can begin work immediately. Sweetheart, off we go,” I said, and headed upstairs with Razi. “I told you I don’t need a nanny, Miss Scarlett,” Razi grumbled.

It was crisp, professional, unmistakably familiar. I opened the door to find Vivian standing in the narrow hallway with a tray of food and an expression that could have frozen hell. She was dressed differently than I'd seen her before, sleek black pants and a fitted sweater that emphasized her curves, her hair loose around her shoulders instead of pulled back in its usual severe style. She looked beautiful, predatory, and absolutely furious. "I brought dinner," she said, pushing past me into the room without waiting for an invitation. Tony had stood up from the bed, “Did you get the stuff?"

Anything to take the emphasis away from my sheer embarrassment. "I'm Genie". I can't even look him in the eye, let alone believe that he's sitting next to me and talking to me. "Nice name - what's it short for?". "It's Genevieve". I mumble. "Wow, not a name you hear often. I like it! So now we're acquainted can I buy you a drink?". He asks. The private salon looked exactly how I expected: elegant, intimidating, and designed to remind everyone who belonged and who didn’t. A long mirrored table dominated the center of the room, surrounded by velvet chairs. Almost every seat was already occupied. Vivian sat at the head of the table in a pale lavender Chanel suit, her notebook perfectly aligned in front of her and a silver pen resting between her fingers. To her right sat Liz. The moment she saw me, her smile disappeared. A few other committee members—daughters of prominent families, socialites, and heirs connected to some of New York’s oldest industries—turned to look at me with polite curiosity.

Grace suddenly grabbed me, her eyes red with rage. "You did this on purpose. You sent Xavier to that operating table, didn't you? You're a murderer!" I shook her off and sneered. "Grace, you really are good at framing people." So, I swiftly pulled out my phone and played another crucial video to everyone. The footage came from a portable camera set up by the family of the patient in the neighboring bed. The recording clearly showed Xavier walking past the room and noticing Leo's stuffed toy left on the bed. He had a curious glint in his eye, clearly interested in the toy. So, he picked it up and started playing with it.

Vivian’s attention flickered nervously, scanning faces. At a table adorned with champagne flutes and delicacies, Anna raised her glass, clinking it gently against Vivian’s. Gina approached, radiant as ever. “Hi Anna! I’m so glad you came,” she said, pressing her cheek against Anna’s in a quick hug. “Wouldn’t miss it,” Anna replied warmly. “And Viv! Nice to see you here,” Gina said, waving. Vivian forced a polite smile, wary. “You girls should have fun,” Gina said softly. “Come join Naya at her table—she’s been asking after you.”

Margot says. Vivian smiles and nods politely. “Of course. Please join us. You’re just in time for dessert. If you’d care for some?” I say. The staff don’t miss a beat. Another place setting appears for each of them with surgical efficiency. “Margot, Charles… it’s wonderful to see you both again,” Vivian says as Margot sits beside her and Charles opposite. The table staff pour the wine. “I need to go oversee my dessert plating. I’ll be right back.”

Her eyes flashed with annoyance. “I can feed myself, thank you very much.” I grinned. “Good. Because I was really looking forward to shoveling scrambled eggs into your mouth.” Vivian rolled her eyes and sat down at the table, picking up a piece of toast. “You're disgusting.”
