Vivian's Table Novels & Stories

Vivian greeted half-heartedly with a bow, trying so hard not to glare at the woman in front of her. Sophia's eyes twitched for a second, her lips curving into a faux smile; "Lady Vivian!" She uttered, not bothering to return Vivian's bow. To her, she was nothing but a pest she had to get rid of, just like she got rid of Ama. Styx's eyes lingered on Vivian for a second, removing his eyes and choosing to ignore her. He had been doing that for a while now and it had been something he had gotten used to.

Vivian asked again, showing them her phone but none of them looked at it not even Nathan. The next moment, Nathan couldn't bear it anymore. He stood and then made his move to go to her table when Vivian held him. “Where are you going?” Her eyes jabbed at him. “Lily’s table.” He snatched his hand from her impatiently. “Are you attracted to reeks?” She commented with disdain. “What reeks?” Caleb frowned deeper. Vivian said nothing at once, her mouth went into each other like she was mute. With this, Nathan moved away from the table and went to Lily’s table.

She paused outside the door, letting the last of her earlier turmoil settle. Vivian. Still hoping to become Master Voss's final student, are we?* Shame you won't be getting your wish tonight. Not even with Grant clearing every path in front of you. She pulled out her phone and dialed. --- Inside the restaurant, the table was set with an extravagant spread, staff moving quietly between courses. Vivian sat glowing with certainty. Master Voss had made his interest more than clear; this apprenticeship was as good as hers already.

‘Vivian, is this true? Inside her head she saw Vivian clearly now, her knees curled into her chest as she kept her arms tight around them. Silver was sniffing at Vivian’s bright red hair. ‘Viv, are you alright?’ Vivian looked up then, feeling as if Jordyn’s violet eyes had met her black ones. Vivian looked nearly identical to Jordyn except the bright red hair and black eyes. Her skin was a little bit paler and her barely there clothing seemed to be made of autumn leaves with a mix of brown, red, and orange coloring. She still had a red hazy aura surrounding her. As Vivian’s head snapped to the side to look at Silver, Silver jumped back, which Silver was never afraid of anything.

But whatever it is, it clearly hasn't worked. I shake it off, taking a small flight of stairs to an open area. The space is stark and overly minimalist, a few scattered chairs at the far end with barely any privacy between the tables. The overhead lights flicker slightly, casting long shadows. I scrunch my nose at the strange smell lingering in the air, a mix of cooking oil and something unidentifiable. Spotting them at the end of the table, I notice Vivian’s flushed face, her eyes hazy as she's looks drunk. That can't be right.

He tossed a piece of bread into his mouth like this was all some twisted joke. Vivian finally spoke, “Perhaps we should discuss this later. The food is getting cold.” Francisco gave her a disdainful look, then returned to his plate. I watched them all eat, the wolves in silk and gold. They all had knives behind their smiles. And I? I was the fool sitting in between two firestorms. My hands trembled slightly under the table as I reached for my water glass. I caught Vivian’s gaze—just briefly. Her lips were tight, and though she said nothing, I saw it. Pity. But even that, I didn’t want.

He had turned the table of food upside down and stormed away in fury. Sandilo must have remembered the same incident too. He glared at Veron, challenging him to comment. Veron kept his mouth shut wisely. Vivian gripped the edge off her seat when she saw Apra walk in with the dinner. There were four huge chunks of meat on the tray. The blood dripping from the meat had formed a pool at the base of the tray. Vivian gagged and she felt bile rise in her throat. She bolted out of her seat and ran to the courtyard, in desperate need of some fresh air.

Zach gritted out, clenching his fists by his side he knew that if he lays a hand on Vivienne, he would leave a mark and she might tell another story to her fiancee which will ruin his relationship with Jeffery more. " Oh, that is one of the issues we need to talk about. " Vivi said as she spied the dinner table and walked towards it. " Stay away from there. " Zach said as he quickly went after her but he wasn't quick to stop her from putting a spoon filled with food from the plate that was supposed to be for Maisie. Guess he was throwing out that plate and the dinner have been ruined. Zach reached her just as she sat down in the chair in front of the plate and moan at the taste of the food.

My palms became filled with sweat. I pasted on what I hoped was a calm, professional smile and gave a tiny wave. “Hi. It’s… um, it’s nice to meet you all.” They responded with polite chuckles, and a few nods. But beneath the table, Sebastian’s hand slid across my thigh. I stilled, my forced smile started wobbling. His fingers pressed lightly like he was testing how far he could go. “Vivian comes to us with a strong background,” the man continued. “We’re very excited to have her on board.”

I introduced Naomi to Vivian, but Vivian didn't seem pleased. "Alright, let me order our lunch. What would you like to have? We can talk later," Vivian said as she stood up to leave the table. Naomi saw that Vivian didn't approve of her closeness, and she asked, "Should I join your table, Mia? Oops! It's just two chairs. Don't worry. We can chat later." I watched Naomi stride away from the table as Vivian went to order our lunch. Once Vivian returned, she served my lunch and hers and settled on her seat.
