"I've been thinking about this all day," he murmured, his voice a low, melodic vibration that seemed to settle deep in your chest. He didn't wait for an answer. He moved across the space with a slow, deliberate grace, closing the gap until you could feel the heat radiating from him. When his hands finally found your waist, they were steady and warm, pulling you flush against him. You could feel the thrum of his heartbeat—fast, rhythmic, and echoing your own.
