Reborn on my wedding day

Reborn on my wedding day

He had handed her three standing cases on her third day and watched how she handled them from across the room before saying, simply, "Good." She had set up a proper intake system — something the clinic had been missing. Not complicated: a single ledger, appointment slots, a triage category so that a wolf with a muscle strain wasn't waiting in the same queue as one who needed silver-wound treatment. By the end of the second week, the morning wait in the hallway had gone from seven people standing around confused to three people sitting in actual chairs at actual times. Small. But real.

Iron Serpent Chronicles

Iron Serpent Chronicles

Lifting my left leg, I slid the small device into the slit I'd cut into the cushion of my chair. Settling back down, I shook back my long black hair, raising my head to be seen clearly through the glass walls of my office. I sat back, letting the scene play out how it did every year. I was in no hurry to usher in my looming death with a warm smile and wave. Sitting as primly as a princess, I lifted my chin level with the floor, slowed my breathing, rested my hands in my lap, and waited. Ms. Cartwright lifted her wrist to the lock. The PA displayed a harsh baring of teeth that passed for a smile on her pinched face. A low beep gave Ms. Cartwright entrance into my space.

TAKEN BY THE MERCENARY

TAKEN BY THE MERCENARY

The receptionist took one of the women along a hallway, then the other, as Loveth waited for over an hour and three quarters. Irritation building inside her at having to wait for such a long time, she fought the urge to do what her instincts told her, itching to get up and leave. Finally, two hours later the second woman returned from down the hallway. Loveth knew now at last, she would be next. “Loveth.” The receptionist called her and she stood up ready to follow her. “I’m sorry, but the CEO has asked if you would mind rescheduling for tomorrow? Unfortunately something urgent has come up.”

My Millionaire Husband’s Secret

My Millionaire Husband’s Secret

“Can you tell me where I am on the list? I’ve been waiting for hours.” My fingers drift higher as I speak. His expression stays neutral, but his eyes give him away. “Tomorrow morning,” he says flatly. Tomorrow might as well be never. “Is there any way,” I ask, uncrossing my legs with intention, “you could move me up?” He turns away without answering. I watch his back, fury blooming hot and violent in my chest as he speaks quietly into the radio on his shoulder. A room vacancy, I catch. Just when I decide I’ve miscalculated, my cell door clicks open.

THE BILLIONAIRE LAST LIE

THE BILLIONAIRE LAST LIE

He did not respond immediately. His gaze moved instead to the teams clustered at their stations, to the subtle choreography of movement—who leaned in to consult a screen, who waited, who spoke first. He registered the rhythm before the report. The operations floor adjusted around him without instruction. Conversations softened. A few staff members slowed their gestures, as if aware they were being seen. Then a muted alert pulsed across one of the dashboards. Victor Kane noticed it at the same moment Marissa Chen did. The color shift was minor—amber, not red—but it drew attention. “Finance authorization,” Marissa Chen said, stepping closer. “Pacific workflow. Sequence delay.”

Right There Waiting

Right There Waiting

"For sure. At the very least, I'm quite content." Embarrassed, I clasped my hand over my mouth—I really wanted to bite off my own tongue as soon as I said that. Carl was grinning ear-to-ear. "It's just small talk. No reason to get so nervous, Ms. James." - Neon Pulse Amusement Park was very crowded. Still, I made sure to buy VIP tickets so that Mr. Graham could really enjoy himself, and I'd just be claiming the expense off Neil anyway.

My mate chose my sister

My mate chose my sister

I had not shifted since before the gathering. That was ten days. Ten days of keeping my wolf pressed down and quiet and small inside me the way you keep a door shut against wind, both hands on the handle, all your weight against it. Shifting required space and privacy and the particular absence of dread that I had not been able to locate anywhere inside myself since the night everything broke. My wolf had been patient about it. She had waited. But I could feel her patience thinning at the edges the way ice thins in early spring, still holding, still holding, and then one morning simply not.

He Came Back Running

He Came Back Running

No one in the room showed any awareness that I was there beyond the waitress, who had brought my water without eye contact and had not returned since. Eight-ten. I looked at every face I could see None of them belonged to a person I recognised. Eight-fifteen. My patience had a threshold. I had learned this across years of professional contexts.... negotiations, presentations, the particular discipline of waiting for a room to arrive at the conclusion you had been working it toward without showing that you were working it. My patience threshold was approximately eighteen minutes. Past eighteen minutes, the patience became something else. Past eighteen minutes, I stopped performing calm and st

The99&2000
While I like it so far, it's difficult not to notice that AI is being used for a great deal of the story. It's painfully obvious because "person does thing with the quality of a blah blah blah that's decided something and rearranged themselves around it" That sentence structure is used ad nauseum

This is how you tell a story! I do pray it stays this way as I failed to look and see it was ongoing as I usually don’t read ongoing books because updates are not substantial but baby…!!!! This book thus far is a great read and can’t wait until it’s completed.

Caught Between Two Alpha's

Caught Between Two Alpha's

"That's a credential they'll recognize." A brief pause. "Yes," Adrian said. "It is." He hung up. Cam appeared in the doorway with his laptop. He had clearly been awake for hours. "The waiting list," he said. "Amsterdam has forty-one people on it. Madrid has twenty-three. I've been building a triage protocol for intake prioritization during capacity constraints." He put the laptop on the table. "High distress cases get immediate intake regardless of node capacity. Mid-range cases get assigned to the first available node regardless of geography. Long-term stability cases get placed on the standard waiting list with weekly check-in support."
