I grimaced as a violent stump rose from my chest causing me to clutch my chest. I felt the acidic taste of bile burn the back of my throat. I swallowed deeply, trying to cool it with some saliva as my body suddenly felt heavy. I shook my head, the room tilting to the side slightly and the edge of my vision blurring. I forced myself to sit up, breathing heavily to calm myself. What is happening to me? I thought to myself, wiping my mouth with the back of my right hand.

With a sense of urgency, I pushed my head out of the blanket and took a gulp of air but it was almost the same thing, thick and heavy. So I pushed myself out of bed, slipped into sandals and padded downstairs.

When I finally woke up from the nightmare, I felt like my lungs were burning from lack of oxygen. I threw the blankets from me, ran towards the window, and opened it. I tried to take deep breaths but instead started feeling dizzy. I closed my eyes and put my hand on my chest, which was beating painfully fast.
