Bella I used to think I knew my body. Every rhythm. Every shift. Every small change. Now? Now it feels like it belongs to someone else. I noticed it the moment I woke up this morning a strange heaviness not pain exactly. Just… weight. Like my body is working harder than it used to, even for the simplest things. Sitting up in bed takes more effort than it should. My chest rises a little too fast, my breath catching before it settles. I pause, pressing a hand lightly against my stomach.

Erica It was a slow process, me waking up. At first I felt like there was a heavy weight on my chest pressing me down, my heartbeat was fast and my body was covered in cold sweat, usually I wake up like this when I startle awake from a nightmare but this time I didn’t remember having a nightmare instead it felt like I was in a cold slumber and just woke up.

Jason I woke up that morning with a strange heaviness in my body, the kind that makes even the simplest movement feel like a burden. My head throbbed slightly, and my chest felt tight, as though the air in the apartment had become too thick to breathe. The entire bedroom suddenly felt like a freezer, and even buried under the covers, I was shivering violently. My teeth clattered against each other so hard I was terrified they might shatter.

My heart pounded in my chest. I woke up with a furious chest pain. I screamed as I hit the floor suddenly. I must've rolled out of bed. The sheets came with me and I was covered completely. My body was clammy and my hair came undone in my sleep. It was sticking to me and damp from sweat. I tossed the covers off. My throat was dry. I felt pain consuming me all over. I collapsed from the loss of energy. This was the beginning. The reminder of Nathalie's words spoke to me, 'But, if you start shifting early... PLEASE call me.' I found my eyes locked on the unlatched door. I forgot to lock it when I got home.

I felt the pain in my chest return as if something was knocking gently from the inside. 'Wake up. Wake up, Katherine! Now!' I sucked in a sharp breath and bolted upright before my eyes flew open. "No!" My voice came out hoarse. My body was drenched in sweat while. My chest also rose and fell while I struggled to breathe. I also felt my heart was pounding so hard it hurt. I clutched the blanket around me and felt my fingers shaking. The room was dim and quiet. Then I looked beside me. The chair beside the bed was empty.

My eyes are getting heavier, my body feels floating and my chest feels slow down as well as my breathing becomes regular and now everything is dark. ***
