Alpha Conan’s POV The gardens were quiet tonight, the air cool and sweet with the scent of jasmine and damp earth. The moon hung low, nearly full, casting silver light over the paths Maya and I walked side by side. Her steps were soft, her hands tucked into her sleeves, and I could feel her wolf brushing against mine, a gentle hum that made my chest ache. My wolf was calm, content just to be near her, but there was a weight in me tonight, a need to share something I’d kept buried for too long.

He could clearly hear his little Moon's heart racing and scared. "It's true, Nara, come on, let's go." The Moon stood up with difficulty, holding her belly and taking a few steps towards the wolf that approached. He bowed in a clear invitation for her to climb on his back. The Moon, without thinking twice, did so, helped by Nara, who looked frightened towards the back where they had left everyone fighting fiercely. They left stealthily without anyone seeing them. As they walked away, the screams could be heard. Suddenly, the Moon clutched her chest and fell fainting to the floor.

A crescent moon nestled in faintly clouded glass, with three tiny snowflake crystals dangling from the edge like frozen stars. She reached out, fingers hovering just above it, heart tightening. I no longer cared if I had to be Phliip’s wife if that is what it takes for Atticus to be free and alive. When I wake up, it is already dark and I’m outside the palace in what looks to be a meadow. But what astonishes me most is that when I look up in the sky there are two moons, one looks bigger than the other and both shine a silver glim. That’s when I realized I must be somewhere else far from Earth. I blink a few times and my eyes focus on a long shimmering figure coming forward, but I can’t see very well who the person or entity might be. She kept approaching and I noticed the goddess with her guardian wolves, “My child, we meet again.” She speaks in a sweet and delicate voice.

“I’m asking because I do.” His hand rises to my face. His fingers brush my jaw as if proving I’m solid. “Come back,” he says. Not an order. That almost undoes me. “I will.” I leave before the promise can become a goodbye. The path to the mirror ruins slopes through black grass and rainwater. My boots sink into soft earth. Every step sends an ache through my hips and back, but I keep moving. The Bone Moon follows above the trees. I think of Lily across the river.

Kylan ~ Two months ago ~ I had walked so far I didn’t recognize where I was anymore, and ended up at a small clearing between the trees. There was no one in the woods, and nothing but silence as I looked up at the blood moon. It was massive, larger than the average moon, and burned a deep red. It was…breathtaking. If only the reason behind it wasn’t so terrifying.

It was a thirty-minute walk, and I could see the houses and shops in the distance as I quickened my pace. Looking up at the night sky, I noticed the full moon hanging brightly, and a smile appeared on my face. Each time I looked at the moon, it brought me a sense of peace, and I felt my mother’s presence, guiding me through my darkest moments. I continued walking until I spotted a small two-story white house coming into view. The paint was peeling off the walls, and the windows looked like they would shatter at any moment.
