I start to fall as we make it inside the tree line. "You have to run, Ivy, NOW," I feel the tears in my eyes as I try to run faster. Then Jax is ripped from my hand. Get out of here, save our son.” We had been running for an hour; the deeper we ran into the forest, the darker it became; sunlight struggled to break through the trees above us. Lilly inclined her head toward a mountain looming in front of us; after taking a quick sip of water, we started running again; twigs snagged in our hair as we tried to dodge low branches in our path. I was getting better at it. Wyatt grinned and then Dex stood before me. He took off running and Dali followed. I thought Dali could run fast, but Dex was faster.
