I opened the basket. Inside was... A jar of pickles. A cheese plate. A fluffy, soft blanket. And curled around the whole thing… a narrow, body-length pillow. I stared at it all for a good thirty seconds. Pickles? Cheese? A pregnancy pillow? What... was this? A laugh bubbled up inside me—half bewildered, half hysterical. Was this a joke?

The wife would be gone shopping for an hour or two then would come back with supper for us. I had this pillow that I liked sleeping on the floor with because it fit under my neck just right. It was one of those round long pillows that look like half of a hot dog, just bigger around. It was kind of old and worn but it was the one I always used when laying on the floor or couch.

He made trip after trip, bringing in what looked like huge and oddly shaped pillows and scattering them around the den. "What in the world is all this?" I asked, weaving my way through them all. He picked one up, staring at it like it was an alien and scratching his head. "They're pregnancy pillows for you. I didn't know which one to get, so I just got them all and figured you could try them out and see which ones you like best.”

Ooh, one of those zero-gravity beds would be cool. The spare bed at Parker’s place was pretty good and Talia was pretty sure she was the only one to have ever slept on it, but this one had a zero-gravity setting. That would be amazing to sleep on. It came with not only a mattress protector and heating pad but not one but two bamboo pillows. It was an absolute bargain.

Soft, warm pillows cushion my fall and their warm embrace leaves zero room to worry. They’re perfectly formed around me, hugging every curve and dip of my body, as if landing on them was destiny. The fall saved me from that creature, and while I don’t like the new turn of events in my nightmares, if this is how they end, I’ll take it. I moan in bliss, perfectly happy to never leave this nightmare-turned dream, as I press my face further into the pillows, but something shifts against my stomach and stops my movements.

He motioned the guy who has hair the color of the sun and has purple eyes. Nymphos smiled and nodded at them. They smiled back and respectfully bowed. "Lucas, Nymphos' lover – and the Traveler of Space and Time." Nyx said and motioned to the guy who was wearing baggy clothes and a pointed hat. He has dark hair and blue eyes. "Yo!" Lucas greeted and grinned. "Hello." Reyan said and bowed. "So you are also a Wanderer Between Spaces.” He said. Laggas’ eyes narrowed and he pulled Reyan closer to him. Obviously, he is jealous. Meanwhile, Blue and the others notice something.

Still… This curse-bringer’s cook seemed to be pretty good— The smell of the food was something special. When Wendall stepped into the house, Sally was just placing the last stuffed pancake onto the table. The early morning sun shone on the golden pancake. Accompanied by the surrounding fragrance, it made Wendall’s stomach—which had been starved the entire night—start growling involuntarily. It was currently newly six in the morning, so the villa’s servants had not started work yet. Thus, in the large living room, there was only Sally. Because of this, the sound of Wendall’s stomach growling was particularly loud.

Our girl was a survivor though. “Hey. I haven’t been awake for a week. I’m going to go freshen up right quick,” Jadelynn said as she quickly made her way to the bathroom. We listened to her opening and closing drawers. She let out a squeal when she found her surprises. Jadelynn loved, and I meant LOVED, a combination scent of lavender and chamomile. It was very hard to get your hands on, but we got a large supply of all the products that we could find. The entire bathroom was also already stocked with everything she could need or want. We might have gone a bit overboard, but we wanted to ensure that she was pampered like the Queen that she was because she deserved every bit of it.
