"The wolf over there with the glasses and the beard who's the epitome of nerdy, that's my mate, Wyatt. The Chris Hemsworth lookalike is Lance, a fierce fighter and Dante's information man. The guy next to him with the spiky redhead and the baby face is Cameron. And the unfairly gorgeous female opposite him with the unfairly great legs is Cam's mate, Maya." "Stop gossiping about my mate's legs, Jodie," groused Cam playfully before shoveling half a croissant into his mouth. "You're so beautiful," said Maya, smiling at Freya. She was the only one apart from Jodie who had a smile for her. "No one would ever think you had such a smart, awesome mouth."

“Jasper, you run a whole shifter training program - you just caught me and prevented me from knocking myself out when I fell - I’m sure you’d be great at taking care of your mate.” Jasper just shrugs. “I’ve never felt like I deserved a mate.” “Jasper,” I say, setting down the pen and notebook and reaching out to take his hand. “Mating is a special connection between two werewolves - it’s not about being perfect, or thinking you’re good enough. If you want a mate, it’s okay to look for that.” “Uh huh.” Jasper pulls his hand away from mine and sticks it in his pocket. He glances around the gym, looking very uncomfortable.

her words dripping defensively, but I could see right through her, and I knew she hadn't said it all. "So, what is it about?" I asked, my words wrapped with warmth. "I just want to know..." She trailed off for a fleeting second, "When will you finally find your mate, someone you can finally be with?" She finally let it out, her words tumbling out after another. "This pack needs a Luna, and no doubt, you need a mate. You can't just be there since you lost your previous mate; it's been years already," she said, her tone transforming into that of a childlike, laced with emotional blackmail.

“After all these years, after everything we have been through.” “There is no everything, Lisa,” I cut in, the finality in my tone making her flinch. “There is friendship. That is all. It has always been only friendship.” “But” “No.” I stepped forward and she retreated. “The she wolf you smell is my mate.” The word lingered in the hall like a shockwave. Lisa’s face went blank. The guards were not even pretending anymore. “Your mate?” she whispered. All the fight drained out of her, replaced by something close to horror.

Fallon laughs and I hate him even more "This is not a matter of the elders, a war is brewing and you have no idea how serious this is," "This is not about the war; this is about the fact that Beau has a mate. He could be stronger after the mating ritual. He will be strong enough to be the alpha." Olin manages. Fallon laughs again and somehow this upsets Olin, he walks over till he is face to face with my uncle and I know what will happen next if this continues. Olin is already angry and Fallon is amused by that fact. He wants a fight; I shouldn’t let that happen.

The second wave of the battle begins—modern comms crackling with frantic orders, feral war cries rising from both sides, electric barriers igniting, wolves lunging, steel clashing, chaos tearing the night apart— And Ella is caught between us. Between the brother who wants to break her and the mate who is willing to die for her. The world bends. The storm screams. And Duke lunges. I meet him head-on.

Is it selfish to desire for his thoughts to be overrun by me? "You're bringing me back to when Andrew and I first started off as mates. The glimmer in your eye, it will give you away every time," Fiona pulls me back down to earth. "Mates, they make everything seem okay. They turn on the light when things get dark, they yell at you when you put yourself at risk, they make a crumbling world seem like a paradise, all to keep you happy. You'll think that you don't deserve him—or at least I did—but know that he is thinking the same way."

Eckley reminded me that Celia not being interested in him did not mean that Jax wasn't interested in her and he had to add 'she isn't interested in you either but you aren't going to stop trying'. I hated that he was right. Now, I was starting to worry. What if Jax did like Celia as more than a friend? They had history, I know they had been friends for years. I tried to think of mated Warriors I knew, how had they met? I never really asked. After the Mates Dinner every quarter there were a few Warriors that proudly sported their new marks, happy to tell anyone willing to listen how great their mate was. Had any known their mate before? I didn't know.

Wolves around them whispered, their voices taunting. “Unworthy. Forgettable. Replaceable.” Her wolf whimpered, but Alia walked forward, voice trembling. “Even if you push me away, even if the bond is shattered, I will not let go. Because I was chosen, and I chose you.” The chains shattered, and the whispers faded to silence. *Luca’s Vision The training grounds. Warriors bowed not to him, but to a shadowed figure in the distance. His father. “You are only ever second,” the voice taunted. “Second to Ryder, second to your own bloodline. Even your mate deserves better.”

A type of people that anyone should be proud to call a friend and pack member. Apollo also told us that many of the warrior’s mates had come to help the Omegas out because they hated what their mates had done to them and to Elle, but they were not able to stop them because they were being treated the same exact way by their own mates. Come to find out, not all of them had entered into the mate-bond willingly. Even still, more were not even truly mated but were forced to live like it. They were happy when the warriors got locked up.
