He drops his eyes to me, but I look at the wolf king. “Camille. That’s my name. Or Cami for those I’m close to. But since we’re not close, Camille will do,” I say to him, straightening my shoulders. Leonardo narrows his eyes, looking at me, then back at Salvatore.

I smiled as excitement washed through me. “Why are you smiling like a creep?” He asked, looking at me suspiciously. “ I love it when you call me Cat.” I replied, tilting my neck to one side as I continued to smile. Gwaine said nothing at first, then he simply rolled his eyes. “Your name is Catherine, not Cat . How can you be a cat when you’re a wolf?” He asked and this time, it was my turn to roll my eyes. “Well, why did you just call me Cat then?”

The cat growled and lunged at him again, teeth bared, but the warrior stepped aside with fluid precision. “Woah! I think that cat’s overdue for a nap.” He said with a chuckle, glancing towards Lyra and motioning to the attacking animal. The wild cat flailed, its sharp teeth gnashing at his wrist, but he didn’t flinch. With a grunt, he swung the creature to the side with a force that sent it tumbling into the wet grass. The wild cat’s body flickered like a mirage for a moment, but it recovered quickly, spinning around and launching itself at the warrior once more, its body a blur of twisted motion.

Blissful silence, no need to say a word to fill in the space. “I am itching for a shower. Let’s go inside,” I tell Ryker. We go around our business like we have done this for ages.
