Phoebe Sitting at the dining table with Saben beside me, eating a stack of pancakes, and the little pup in my arms suckling away at her bottle, I watch as Aileen paces back and forth, wringing her hands. My friend is a ball of nervous energy, all because we have begun to look into the pups the hunters were breeding and selling and are working on finding where those already sold may be. “I can’t believe it’s already been a week since we came here,” Aidan grumbles, taking a seat at the table while nursing a mug of coffee.

CHAPTER 14 BROKEN AIDEN I sit alone in the west garden playing with my favorite spider man toy. It's late afternoon, father is at work and mother is passed out drunk as always. These few hours are the only time I can enjoy some semblance of peace. I imagine that one day I would wake up with extraordinary powers, powers strong enough to heal my mother and make my father young forever so that we can become a happy family. The steady sound of footsteps echo loudly around me resounding inside my brain, making my heart tremble with fear; mother is awake! I quickly throw spider man behind a bush, “sorry spider man.” I whisper as I hurriedly stand to my feet.

He shoved past Arnold and stepped inside. “Well, hello to you too, Nova,” Aiden teased as he followed him in, that smile still on his face. “Keep the PDA on the low, lovebirds,” Arnold called, already walking away. “Do we have to do that?” Aiden asked, smirking. “Yes,” I whispered back, nudging him. “At least in front of my parents. My mom might love you, but my dad might already be plotting your murder.” Aiden chuckled. “Let’s go in then.” He gave a wink. “I’m Aiden Cross—I got this.”

He knew now that the enemy was closer than he had ever realized. Aiden finally stopped at the edge of a cliff that overlooked the valley below. From this vantage point, he could see the smoke still rising from the Blue Moon Pack’s territory. It was a sobering reminder of the destruction that had occurred, and the precarious state of the werewolf community. Aiden’s jaw tightened. He had to find out who was behind the attacks, who was orchestrating the Rogue’s movements with such precision and cruelty. The answer was out there, and Aiden was determined to find it, no matter the cost.

Joyann Blackwell was his cousin, and he didn’t believe if she couldn’t contact Blake, she’d contact Aiden. Something’s going between the two of them. “What did you do to my cousin?” he asks. Aiden laughs out. “You don’t think you’re overreacting there Craig. Joy works for me. She gets paid to watch my enemies. I’m not attracted to married women…” he says before pulling his girlfriend closer to him and giving her a kiss on the lips. She smiles brightly. =========== Two weeks later. Blake Davenport POV “So, what can I do for you?”

Making me hold the wall for support. "Alpha please! You can't get up! Your body is too weak!" The maid pleaded but Alexandria's face flashes in front of me and I shake my head. Trying to reach the door. My entire body was protesting, my vision blurry. But I had to reach her no matter what. Another sharp pain hits my head and I lost my balance. Falling in front ,to have two strong arms steady me. I look up to see Ace looking at me with concern evident in his eyes.

White dog raised its head in confusion at first, and when it saw Alden sitting on the bed, it shook its furry tail, cheered, and jumped onto his bed as he trot. Alden moved gently to touch its head. PEACH was a white dog with pure gray eyes. Because of his eyes, Alden wanted to him named 'GRAY' but someone else chose PEACH for him. And that someone was Kang DENNIS , His Ex-boyfriend. It happened six years ago. Six years ago, Dennis gave PEACH name to the white dog and it had now been four years since their separation, that still left his heart wrenching. Alden scratched its chin, his tone was a little irritable, "Peach, I just dreamed of your Daddy."

’ Jax reported ‘Alright, come back here and check the perimeter just incase he went in the wood to lose his trail. First priority is to keep Alys safe. I think I we have to go talk to her mom. It seems like her dad is a wolf.’ Aiden responded then closed the link, returning his attention to Alys. “Alys, I know we just met but, do you trust me?” Aiden asked, a touch of worry in his voice about her answer. She looked towards him opening her eyes again curiosity written across her face.

“I’m talking about—“ He felt it; just a split second and he ducked. The dagger pierced into his phone, narrowly missing his hand, and the force of the throw pinned the phone to the wall. Vance turned, and saw the blonde man from before. He looked absolutely dapper in his coat and slacks and polo shirt. His grey eyes looked cold, and he had a cigarette in one hand. “Hunter.” The rogue werewolf sneered at the man. “You can call me Aiden.” The man introduced himself with his gaze unwavering. “I think it’s good manners to introduce myself to the one I’m going to kill. You’re welcome.“ Vance growled, letting his fingernails morph into sharp claws. His transformation was slowly taking over him. “Y

He nods, leading me back to my chair, but instead of sitting down, he goes in front of dad and goes down on one knee, bowing his head. “My king, I am very sorry. My wolf has been on edge all morning. The thought of losing Zara made him break the last control I had on him today. Please forgive me.” He says in a strong and clear voice. “Get up, Aiden. You do not need to apologize for wanting to protect your mate. I am proud of you for being her mate and our next Beta. So stand up, son.” Dad says, showing just how much he trusts Aiden and only stopped him so he would not break the Pease agreement of this meeting.
