Immediately we stepped in, a glass cup flew right at us. I rushed Catalina, spurning around and covering her with my wings. The glass shattered on my back.

To hurt his sister, his mate, and anyone close to him.” I stand up, pacing the room as I think about what he will do.

"Who're you?" Fate looked at the stranger suspiciously. She is in no mood to talk to strangers or flirt for the matter, not that she willingly did in her life. Which is why she never had a boyfriend before. As Rhine puts it, she can't help acting like a bitch in front of others outside work. "It's Williams. Kurt Williams." Kurt smiled charmingly and even tried to offer his hand for a shake, but took it back when Fate just looked at it blankly seemingly unaffected by his charms and didn't look like she had any intention of taking it.

Amelia said cheering me up. “On a scale of one to ten, how bad is it going to be?” I asks. “Well, we’ve never experienced it before but from what Caden’s mom said, it is the scariest rule ever. A lot of ladies eyeing Caden gets a chance to fight you for your position and it is a fight to death” She said making me sigh. “What are you guys up to?” Keith said as he and Caden walks in. “We are just leaving” I said as I drag Caden out of the room towards his office.

Alan was going to be a father. "So how am I supposed to tell him? should I plan something?" Hazel asked. Ema immediately grabbed Hazel’s hands, fully entering planning mode. “Yes. Obviously.” She said like it was the most important mission of their lives. “This man planned an entire terrace date with fairy lights for you. You cannot just casually say ‘hey by the way, you reproduced.’” Hazel burst out laughing. “Oh my God, Ema.” “I’m serious!” Ema pointed dramatically before suddenly gasping.“WAIT.”

It is observing me. “One further disturbance will trigger permanent correction,” Fate states. “This is final notice.” I think of Nora’s hands clutching my coat. Of the way she leaned into me without hesitation. Of the stillness she brought into a being who has never been allowed to stop. “I acknowledge the notice,” I say. The weave loosens incrementally. Fate withdraws, not retreating but redistributing attention elsewhere. Contingencies are already being calculated. Paths that do not yet exist are quietly prepared.
