“Liora, now!” Ash shouted, rushing forward with his knife raised.
The Watcher didn’t even turn. It raised its cloaked arm, and a blast of dark energy slammed into Ash’s chest. He flew back like a giant had hit him, landing hard and still.
“Ash!” Liora screamed.
Kael came at the Watcher from the other side, his dagger aimed at its back, but the blade passed through, like smoke. Kael stumbled, off balance, and the Watcher’s arm swung back, hitting him across the face, spinning him to the ground.
