Lara jumped left, circling wide. And then— A shadow moved behind them. Another wolf. Bigger. Black-furred, glowing red eyes. I stumbled to a stop. Another one? No. Something worse. The black wolf lifted its snout, howled once, and charged straight at me. I barely had time to move. I fell hard onto the ground, pain shooting up my arm. The black wolf’s claws slashed the air where I had been a second before. Dalton shifted mid-lunge and tackled it with a roar.

It slipped out before I could catch it and I heard footsteps behind me almost immediately, the low murmur of voices, and my body went cold. I couldn’t run. Not really. Not in a pack full of wolves who could cover ground in seconds. Running would only make it worse, only make me look like exactly what they all already thought I was, so I stopped. I pressed my back against the wall, closed my eyes for two seconds, and then stepped out into the corridor like I’d just been walking. Like I had somewhere to be. Like the mark on my neck wasn’t still throbbing and the whole world hadn’t just collapsed into a pile of ash. Adrian was there.

More more?” He asked bringing out a stack of bills from his pocket and throwing it at her. The money hit her chest and fell onto the floor. She wondered how someone could have such a huge amount of cash on them. “Isn’t that what girls like you want? Some extra cash?” He asked.

It was more like she met a ghost, remembering what Henry said, she took her heels and started running. Jones didn't run after her, he stayed still with a smirk and suddenly gaits towards her. Celine paused when she didn't notice him after her, panting as she leans her head against the wall. “Was that Jones? I think I lost him.” Celine was walking backward when her back hits a being. She screamed, turning around and her eyes met Jones's grin “Do you think you can run away?” he questioned moving closer to her. Celine was walking back to Ward, nodding her head in refusal.

He chided himself, it wasn't time to think of what was pretty about her. "How did you even..." He stopped remembering she was a sneaky thief, "Red! Give them back, we need to get home." "I don't want to." Red smirked at him before suddenly opening the car door and racing out. Well, Daniel had no other choice than to get down and follow her in hot pursuit. The streets were lonely as the probably would be couple raced each other. A bubbly girl running happily with an angry man chasing her "You should be ashamed of yourself!" Red stopped and turned to see Daniel far behind, "You gym all the time yet you can't catch up with me."

Dante asks as we follow at a distance. This time, I keep my pace with Dante's so that I keep my distance from Chelsea's group. She is really running quickly with all of her group with her. Soon though, one of the pups with bright red paws begins to outdistance all of the others. Chelsea tosses the book to that pup as the rest follow as quickly as they can. "I guess that the theory about where the red is located on their bodies just might be accurate." Dante says with a snort.

I turned to the door when I was stopped by a third rogue. “Who do we have here?” The uglier of the two spoke as he walked towards me. “Such a pretty red head. Do you know anything about red wolf?” He asked as he came up to me. I shuttered as he spoke. “I don’t know anything about a red wolf. I have never seen one.” I tried to keep my composure. I didn’t want them to see that I was scared. Lela was growling in my head. ‘We can’t shift, Lela. They are looking for you.’ I whispered.

He sniffed the air, and then growled. I stood there in complete shock, heart pounding, stomach doing somersaults, and panties dripping wet as he said, "Hey Darlin’, you miss me?" To Be Continued...
